My brother and his wife made reservations at our favorite place at North Shore. The Rustic Cabins!! We have met there 3 or 4 times now. It is so peaceful and just across the street from a nice beach. You can walk over and stroll as far as you would like. I wade but do not get in to swim. The water is too cold for me. I am looking forward to watching the Fireworks on the 4th over the Lake!!!
I am taking my NORO Latrop Bag and hope to finish knitting it this weekend. I am on the second decrease and I am loving it. It called for NORO Iro, but I chose NORO Furisode. I spent 3 years of my early teens in Yokohama, Japan and love all things Japanese, and I love (alot) the NORO yarns. I am also working on the Glynnys Sweater (Pattern and yarn from Knit-pics!!!). I am using the Wool of the Andes, Hyacinth, and just get in a trance knitting the moss stich. I am not yet to the Cable section and I also hope to reach that point during this long weekend.
I finished a baby sweater called Hugs & Kisses, Posted in Ralvery on my site (sind2fo). I have posted most all my projects there with pics if you are interested is seeing.
My Knit Nite at Cindy's group on Wed's is still going. I am still enjoying the teaching part and watching the new "addicts". It is so fun to watch them learn and then grow. My first "student" had made several scarves, fingerless mitts, booties, and a baby hat and is working on her first Sweater! She is totally addicted! Her 11 year old daugher, my second "student" has just completed her first scarf and wants to make a pancho. The other's are at various stages, scarves, cellphone holders, baby hats and booties, mug cozies... each has found a way to just take off and explore!
4 of us from the group at work "Knifty Needlers" went on a field trip in June from Reno to Minden, NV. It is about an hour drive. We wanted to visit Pioneer Yarn Co. in Minden. What a great store. We all had fun! I bought my NORO yarn thereand black leather purse handles for a felted bag I am making. The next weekend there was a Quilt and Craft show at the Grand Resort Casino here in Reno. I went with a few friends and found 4 or 5 yarn stops! I was so excited to find Lorna Mieser (formally of Lorna's Laces) there at a booth!! I spent quite a few minutes visiting her! What a wonderful, talented woman!!
Well, almost time to leave for the Lake. I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July, 2010!!!
