My ears were cold, and my mood was, um, a bit silly.

Who wouldn't want a hat that makes them look like an Emissary of the Elf People? The pattern is Sloochie (Ravelry link), the yarn is Gloss HW, and the pointy top is awesome. Well, at least in my mind!

The pattern is worked from the pointy tip down to the brim, and there's also a not-pointy version you can knit (but why?). There are also a couple of cute cable options for the brim - you get to pick your favorite.

I used a sewn bind off for the hat brim, since I wanted it to be as stretchy as possible. Nobody wants a red line around their forehead from a too-tight bind off!

Pattern: Sloochie by Woolly Wormhead (Ravelry link)
Yarn: Gloss HW in Blackberry. I used less than one skein for the pointy version in size medium.
Needles: Nickel Options Interchangeable Needles, US size 7

That hat is too cute for words. Now I want one because that is something I would totally wear. In that color too.

I was checking out the pattern and have to say that YOUR hat is much more fun than the one shown on Ravelry. That was sort of limp-ish compared to your perky elfin splendor! Does the Gloss HW just have more 'body' to it than the original yarn? Whatever the difference, you did GREAT!

OK, one Christmas gift has just switched mid-stream.... I have one hat to knit that hasn't been started and this is a total winner! I, too, want to see it ON you, Alison! I think I'D like to be the Elf Queen! Maybe I need one of these too! Anything that makes you smile to see it, is PERFECT in every way!
