Happy fourth everyone. I spent part of the day with my husband's family where we almost had an incident. His aunt tried to molest my knitting. She was a little drunk and went to grab it with the intention of taking it out to see how it worked. Ok, I think she was a lot drunk at that point. I could tell who the knitters at the party were because they all jumped up and screamed "nooo!" at her. I just held on to my needles with a death grip until the danger was over. Family gatherings are so much fun.

Too much fiber can be a problem--unless of course it's on your needles...

I had a friend pluck the magnetic stip off my Chart Keeper to have a look at it. I had a hard time figureing out where I was! The worst thing, though, was when my puppy ate a big hole in my shawl. I had to start over! I'm just glad the puppy didn't have digestive problems because of it. --P

A person doesn't have to be drunk to do something like that... I took a pair of socks I was working on (back when I still used dpns all the time)to work to show off my accomplishment, and had the sock on size 1 steel needles in a ziplock bag. One of the ladies at work was so excited to see them, that she ran over and grabbed them (immediately dropping off about six stitches from the sock). And this was before I was good at picking up dropped stitches. I was mortified. But the socks and I both survived! And yes, other knitters would definitely appreciate the "danger". I love family gatherings too.
