Ok, I've gotten tired of typing and saying "
Classic Lines Cardigan". I thought about it and came up with this anachronism. I realize that there is a case for being redundant because we will probably call it the CLiC sweater. Since cardigan is a noun, I am going to be saying "sweater sweater" I know - I've completely gone off the deep end but I have a shorter name for my lovely sweater.
Our long weekend in Seattle worked out perfectly! A huge chunk of time that I could use to get over my small mental hurdle. I have finished the first sleeve - happy, happy, joy, joy! You would think that I would just cast-on the next sleeve and get going. Here's the thing - the bottom of the sweater and the sleeve cuffs are hemmed. Again, NOT A PROBLEM except that the sleeve cuffs are very small and are just a little, tiny bit challenging to manipulate as I join the cast on in the one round of knitting. Ridiculous!! It's one thing to be held up by a hard technique but this is simply a round of knit-2-togethers!
So, we get in the car to head to Seattle. I have knit the cuff up to the point of the hem join. The sleeve is the only knitting in the car (the rest is in the trunk). It's a three hour drive to Seattle.
I take a nap!!! That was good for about an hour of stalling.
Good news! By the time we got to our hotel, I had knit the joining round and was merrily heading up the sleeve wondering why I made such a fuss! That meant the rest of the weekend was filled with enjoyable knitting time. I took the sleeve to the baseball game but I knit on socks at dinner on Friday night. We went to a late showing of Julie and Julia so I slept most of the way back home Saturday morning.
My report on CLiC Tuesday is quite satisfing. Round and round I go until the second sleeve is finished. Then join the sleeves and the body and things will get really exciting!
