Basketball hat

or my basketball-loving, but hat-hating 3 year old.

He now wears a hat happily!!!

The stripes are stitched on in duplicate stitching. My own design (well, that and the inventor of the basketball)

This is a basic hat pattern, in Lion Wool in the color "pumpkin". I wanted it to be that dark, brownish orange or a true, leather basketball. There is a simple single rib on the bottom.

the duplicate stitching (which took FoReVeR!!) was pretty easy to eyeball, just do a cross pattern from brim to brim across the top, then do half circles, hald way between the cross lines. I used WOTA in Chestnut for the stripes.
