Just thought to share something with you.
Another thing has me giggling for days now whenever I think of it. Last weekend I finally got up the guts to start on getting stuff together to learn how to knit a shawl in lace pattern (see "another test project" blog). Never done much lace knitting and usually made a right dog's dinner of it.
So I went to my wonderful better half, showed him the pattern and asked him what he thought of it and would it suit me. Well, he got his face all wrinkly with indecision, not wanting to offend me and asked: "Well, it does really look nice & interesting from what I can see. But how do you get the holes in it? I thought that if you knit right you DON'T have holes in it!"
A day later I did the same with a friend at work - same effect, same question.
Now I'm someone who's got a vivid imagination and funny memory. I've started the shawl and it's going REALLY well (it helps that it's an easy pattern). But every time on the train (seeing it's my commuter project) knitting it, I have to think about the comment and the wrinkly faces with all the love and respect but also doubt in it - and start giggling.
I've decided that's good. Giggles and laughs are the spice of life.
Hugs to you all.
