About Me
My name is Misty, and I'm a natural redhead. I love to knit, but I'm just starting to learn beyond the basics. Two books that I have found helpful are knitspeak by Andrea Berman, and Field Guide To Knitting by Jackie Pawlowski. I'm a visual/manual learner--I learn best by watching it done and doing it myself as someone walks me through it--but these books are a big help!
I have been married for a little over five years, and I have two little girls. I clean our church part time, but I'm mostly a stay at home mom. I'm grateful to be able to stay home with my girls. :)
I love to read. I'm not a big t.v. person, but I'm into shows like Heroes, Smallville, Bones, Monk, Christy, and Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. I like a variety of movies and music.
I am a Christian, and I believe that the best way to show Christ to others is to love them.
I'm interested in meeting other knitters, but I'm not interested in a lot of drama. :) A lot of online communities tend to attract people who only want a place to moan about how awful their lives are. That's not me. :) I like making friends, and I believe in being there for your friends, but I don't believe the internet is the place to broadcast your life and your troubles. That said, I also believe there are a lot of really nice people out there, as well. :)

Hi, Misty! I participated in Sock Wars III and enjoyed the website, but there were some moaners there, too, who spoiled things somewhat. I think you'll find the participants here very upbeat and positive, or in the case of dire misfortune, respond with either humor or good grace. Welcome. --Peggy

This is a fun and positive website! I think youll really love it. Im new to knitting as well, and I love that I can ask questions and get feedback from tons of experienced knitters. (Im working on my first pair of socks right now) Its also great to see some of the amazing projects other knitters are working on (and hope that someday Ill be that good:) Good Luck and Happy Knitting!

This is such a positive website! I am new to knitting too, and I like to be able to ask questions to experienced knitters, and see what kinds of projects others are working on.
