I fell in love with the Nutmeg hat by Norah Gaughan. I love her designs. The hat is knit at a perfect gauge for City Tweed Heavy Worsted. I am determined to expand my hat collection and the range of "warm" toned colors in my wardrobe. What could be easier than this quick knit hat in a "new" color for me - Morning Glory. I think it is a nice "warm" purple that looks good against my face.

Check out the lovely details of this hat. It was a new experience for me because it was knit flat and then seamed to form the hat. A bit of a problem because I have no experience seaming knit fabric because I am a knitting-in-the-round fan. I decided that I needed some help to finish my hat.

And look how well it turned out!

I imagine that as soon as the weather begins to cool, every knitter is compelled to knit something WARM! But, a sweater doesn't have the instant gratification that is needed. But, a hat? That is perfect! So my next Knitting Buddy drawing will be for

Two Balls of City Tweed Heavy Worsted in you choice of color so you can knit up a hat of your choice.

All you need to do is leave a comment on this blog entry (short or long) and I'll randomly choose from the entries. The drawing will be on September 25, 2009.

Beautiful hat. You can't even tell where the seam is (or was that left off of the photos?)

Beautiful hat pattern! Works for many head shapes and, (IMPORTANT TO ME!) DOESN'T MESS UP YOUR HAIR!

You would. ......You would make the hat I have been telling myself I really don't need because of all the other projects backed up. Infact I even told myself the only reason it looked so good was because of the photo shoot. WRONG. Now I really want it. I really liked the video review seeing is so simple. Thank you for that part.

I love the hat! It would look so good in a great in Romance or Brocade. I have been dying to try the City Tweed and just haven't had a chance, but this would be perfect.

I think this hat would look great in City Tweed Jacquard. Where did you find the pattern?
