My first blog post. I'm new to the Knit Picks Community. I'm new to blogging too but felt compelled to start this blog. Who knows, it might just be fun. I'm going into work late today. It's now snow covered again, having witness another 5 inches or more of soggy snow last night. Our eldest daughter was in a car accident late in the evening. Slippery roads caused a young girl to lose control of her car and come left of center, creating an almost head on collision. Both the girls are brusied but basically seem fine. Both the girls will be car shopping this weekend. It was quite a mess.
Usually on such a snowy morning I rejoice, knowing that I have a darn good reason to stay home and lazily spend the weekend knitting or quilting. And I might just do that still, but as I knit or stitch I'll be sure to remember the small blessings that come my way. Last night was nerve racking.
Yes, it's beautiful outside, but this NW Ohio woman is ready for spring. I'm ready for the rush of spring crocus to poke their little heads to the sun, the chirping whirl of an assortment of birds nesting in the arborvide at the side of the house, and those delicate white buds coming to life on our cherry tree.
My goal this weekend is to teach myself, with the help of the internet of course, to continental knit. I'm a thrower and would really like to learn a more efficent way to knit. You see, my daughters accident reminds me that I don't have "forever" to knit all that I care to so I'm looking to find a way to knit just a tad quicker. I'll let you know my progress later in the week.
Till next time, in stitches and giggles,
Oh, does anyone know if this blogger can get a spell check. As you can see, my spelling is terrible.
