Knitting Community

I'm just getting used to bloging, I've never done it before, so if I make any goofs...please forgive me.

I'm trying to swatch for a baby sweater I want to give to a new daddy at work, but I'm having a problem with gauge. The pattern calls for a dk weight and I have this really yummy worsted ... so I'm still swatching.

I went to an estate sale a couple of weeks ago at a house of a knitter. There were huge storage bins and trash bags full of yarn, also a few started and almost done projects it was great. I came away with a ton of yarn, mostly single skeins/balls, quite a bit of sock yarn. All of it was lovely the down side is they had to have been smokers, I didn’t notice the smell, everything was outside, but after I got it home...whoooey. How in the world am I going to get rid of the smell? No offence meant to any smoker out there, but if your not around it ... it really clings to fiber.
