Well mom got home *early* (like as in a few hours after midnight) yesterday morning. Dad, the kidd-o's and I were all so happy to have her and Jaybro back home. :)
About 5 years ago my aunt passed away. She had terminal cancer, and didn't want pressured to have treatment, so she didn't tell anyone until the last 3 months of her life.
Aunt L. was a crafter. Her house put most fabric stores to shame...... She had pile after pile of fabric, books, yarn and other craft supplies. My dad's cousin found out that knitted and crocheted, and sent me home with a big box of yarn. I briefly glanced through it, and set it to the side. It has moved 2 times since then, and beleive it or not I didn't open up the box till last night. Partially because I was sad I hadn't known my aunt (great aunt, actaully) better, partially becuase the knitting bug hadn't *really* bit till about 3 years ago and partially because I had rummaged through, and found acrylic. More acrylic. And even more acrylic. And that was ALL on the top of the monster box of yarn.
Last night I saw some yarn sticking out of a box, and suddenly I remembered it all.
Well, I decided to go through and take inventory.
In it: LOTS and LOTS of acrylic, but most of it soft. In the past few months I have revisited acrylic, and found I really enjoy some softer versions..... I mean wool will always top my list, I am sure.... but I can do acrylic. And at the bottom of the box....... 2 skeins of Lion Wool-Ease. :D If you have been reading my blog, you will remember a few days ago, the escapade with the bank and everything, and needing wool for gloves.
Oh yeah, and a GIANT cone of lace weight thread. It's acrylic..... so I am not sure how it will block, and with lace...... But from what I have seen, it should block ok. But the point is that lace weight is what I have been needing for that project. I really wanted to buy some Alpaca cloud for the project FlyAway and I are doing..... But any lace weight is an answer to prayer. If I don't find some more before Jan 10th, I'll just buy some bamboo crochet thread at walmart and use that.
GOD IS GOOD!
