Knit & Rip

Well, my wonderful lingerie book finally came...last week, actually. And I immediately got my delicious new yarn and sat down to knit. But no matter how many times I started...I always ended up with the wrong count at the end of a few rows and had to rip it out and start over.
I finally wrote to alison, and she was so sweet and went and got the pattern and advised me what I was doing wrong. So I started over...and I actually had it for the basic shell at the bottom...a good 2 1/2 inches. Then I switched to the new pattern...which seemed much easier to me...but I just couldn't seem to do it. I just kept ending up with the wrong count at the end. Even when I used markers and counted diligently as I went and turned off the tv and refused to engage in conversation with my family.... I still can't seem to make it happen. I'm going to have to rip it all out again (violin music please) and start over. I wish I could figure out what I'm doing wrong. But I'm not ready to give up... I'm going to start once again tomorrow. I'll take photos as I go and maybe someone out there in knitting blogger land can help me... boo hoo
