Knitting Community

Until we developed our Harmony wood needles, I was frustrated with knitting lace. I struggled with the decreases and increases necessary to achieve lovely lace patterns. I always assumed that the problem was the knitter. But, after the first round of lace knitting with a set of Harmony needles, I realized the key to relaxed and enjoyable lace knitting lays in the tools you use. The sharp points make it easy to maneuver the stitches. The slightly tacky surface of the wood keeps the stitches from slipping away.

You can easily understand why I went crazy over the new colors in our Alpaca Cloud lace yarns. With the right tools in my hands, I could let myself fall in love with Papaya, Dill and Cappuccino – perfect for my summer wardrobe. The heathered colors give the shawls depth without detracting from the design. The quality of Alpaca fiber means that even the most delicate of shawls will envelop me in soft, elegant warmth.

I too love the Harmony needles. Not only do they feel good, they look good. It is a joy to knit lace with them. I have used the Alpaca Cloud for several sjaals and wraps: Smoke & Peppermint. The Horizon, Mist and Sunlight are discontinued, as well as the Sand which I missed. Sold out before I even could order it. I truly enjoy working the airy light colored yarn on the dark wood needles. They get shinier after use, but I like them just as well. I wish the Harmony's would be availbale in the larger sizes but as fixed needles.

I love harmony needles! My hubby bought the whole set for me and now they are the only ones I use for my lace knitting!

Harmony Needles are the best. I knit much more on gauge with them. I bought a set of interchangles, with extra tips and cables. I need two of the same size needles and have just ordered some more tips. Don't tell my husband, he'll know soon enough. The are the best needles I have ever used.

I agree with Kelly. Lace knitting was about to become a dinosaur for me, when I borrowed an options circular needle from a friend. My order followed in short order. I am enjoying the Options needles immensely. The cables with no memory is a blessing. Most of my other [non-Options]circulars are now resting in their case by the frog pond with nothing to do. Poor dears.
The Options saved me and a project with Kidsilk Haze yarn from wasting some deliciously lovely yarn and losing my sanity. Kidsilk Haze is silk and mohair - lovely, but tricky to work. The Options needles made the project enjoyable and the vest is proceeding with nary a foul word to sully it. Kathleen, North Carolina
