Knitting Community

We love our sock blanks!! And, after several months of secretive planning and knitting, Tina and I are thrilled to be able to share a few of our experiences as we worked out the details and then enjoyed our own dyeing and knitting pleasures.

Kelley, I just love your podcasts but I have to say this was one of my favorites! My sock blanks were on the way before I listened to the podcast and it was a good thing because I couldn't wait to receive them. I dyed 2 the last Sunday of June and I loved the process and the final results! It was my first time to ever dye yarn and the tips, videos and directions provided by KnitPicks were great. Made it very easy. I have started the toe up pattern and love how my sock is becoming a work of art! Thank you for developing this method and process for us. I love Knitpicks!

I'm afraid I'm behind the times. I just listened to the sock blank podcast and was laughing the whole way through. I like to knit while listening and forgot to change yarns when changing socks (2 on 2 circ) as I was so entranced in your conversation. I love the live chatting during the podcast...luckily I caught the boo-boo and only had to frog 1/2 of one sock. I have my sock blank and have a (secret) idea on how I plan to dye it. I'll take pics and post when I make progress. Thanks so much for your podcasts...they are fun!

Yes, you can use the microwave.

Can you use the microwave to steam the Sock Blanks after dying instead of steaming in a pot? The microwave is usually my preferred method - just easier!

This is so exciting! I'm going to have to do this at least once. :)
