Knitting Community

It snowed here again on Friday and Saturday. I think we picked up about 4 more inches. Today is supposed to be sunny and around 40. I sure hope so.

I did have a productive week. I finished the Baby Genius Burp Cloth. I also made a Baby Kimono. I just have to sew it up and add a border. I am trying to decide between and I-cord border and a single crochet border. I have used Sugar'n Cream Lavender Ice. I am going to use hot purple for the border. Today I am going to start a hat to go along with the kimono. After that it's on to the Moderne Baby Blanket.

I've been absolutely DROOLING over some of the Noro yarns, but it is a bit expensive. Maybe I'll just have to settle for a hat or mittens! I was planning to get the knitter's almanac, but I think I'll have to add the knitting workshop to my list as well!

The BSJ is in the Knitting Workshop. It's like $7.95 and very interesting reading. However, I don't know if I would have gotten through the pattern with Dawn Adcock's notes ( They are awesome. I have actually order the Opinionated Knitter to get the adult pattern. I would really like to make it using Noro Silk Garden, but you need like 16 skeins.

I'm about halfway through the second jacket.

How are you liking this weather?? It's supposed to be really warm on Friday and I'm not working!! Where are you in relation to Portland?

I can't wait for the new one either! Where is the pattern for the baby surprise jacket? I don't have any of the EZ books yet, and I'm interested in the jacket, but don't know which book it is in.

I need to get going on the blanket, but I've gotten sidetracked with the kimono and the baby surprise jacket. Now one of my co-workers wants a BSJ for his granddaughter who is expecting at the end of the month.

I have done bibs and they are so cute. I need to make a few of those as well.

I love the Mason-Dixon book and blog as well. I resisted buying it for quite a while because it just didn't look like a good book by the cover, but when I finally looked inside I was hooked. I can't wait for the second one!!

I've knit two baby kimonos and two of the burp cloths, which is good since I have three cousins and one friend who are all expecting! I'd love to try the Moderne Baby Blanket someday, but my kids keep me quite busy! I just LOVE the Mason-Dixon Knitting book AND blog both! I'm planning to tackle a few of the bibs from it as well!
