I can see clearly now that Fall is near...

Yep, I've got leaves falling from the trees, but not because they are changing colors just yet. It's just been so dry lately. We did get a bit of rain last week, off and on almost all week, just enough to make the greass take off and green up and grow some more. I love Fall weather! I love the sounds of football in the air, the crispness of the air, the countdown to the holidays. OH! The holidays!

I'm working on a Wonderful Wallaby for my DS in KP WoTA in Cranberry. He loves red and… Continue

Summer's still on!

It's been a pretty uneventful Summer around my house. No college classes for me this Summer - decided I needed some time off from school work and I'm glad I did take the time. I've been doing some knitting, mostly dishcloths and such to give as gifts, but also worked on DH's afghan while on vacation.

We went to Minnesota earlier this month where we visted family for afew days ebfore heading back home to Oklahoma and stopping at yarn shops along the way! Such fun places! I don't have a… Continue

It's a HOT Summer here!

When the thermometer in my car reads 78 at 7:30 AM, you know it is going to be a hot day! It's been that way for over a week and I don't see it letting up anytime soon!

You know what makes me mad? When I spend about 10 minutes typing a blog post on here and then I do something stupid like updating my commenting moderating settings WITHOUT saving my post first! Yeah, I had a few paragraphs here telling about a trip we took yesterday and all the fun t hings we did - only to lose it ALL! So… Continue

Hello Summer!

Summer is finally here and it's come in with a vengence! It's supposed to be 90 today! Whew! I'll be ready to hit the pool after work, that's for sure!

Classes have been out for almost a month now and guess what I've been doing? KNITTING! I've gotten so much knitting done, it's unbelieveable! I've made a few dishcloths, knit up some gloves, working on DH's blanket, and am really close to finishing up my Brighton bag! Well, at least the knitting portion anyway! I think I'll get the sewing… Continue

Spring is here and it's time for change!

It's been awhile since I last blogged and I feel bad about that... Well I would if I didn't have so much on my plate right now! My classes are killing me! These 8 week courses are literally 16 weeks worth of work jammed into 8 weeks. I have read and typed up so many reports that I'm getting confused about what I'm working on in what class! I have decided to take the summer off and get some knitting in before I hit he books again this fall. I had planned on taking 1 class this summer and then 2… Continue

Winter semester has started!

Well I have started anothe semester of college courses. I think I might have bitten of mroe than I can chew this go around! I'm taking 3 classes this semester. That doesn't sound too bad does it? Well, it's not if you don't have a full time day job and mom and wife! I'm only really taking 2 classes at a time. I have 1 full semester-length class and 2 8week courses. One is during the 1st half of the semester and the second is during the last half. I'm currently Managment as well as Surevey of… Continue

2008 coming to an end!

Well, 2008 is alamost over, just a few moe days to go! Can't believe this year has went by SO FAST! Thing is, Bobby is already counting down till Christmas again! He had a pretty good Christmas, despite the attitude that he got Christmas Eve! He was just tired and cranky from being sick, but still...

Philip's mom and her friend came out on Christmas Eve for dinner and gifts. We had a different kind of dinner this year - hotdogs, baked potatoes, chili, sour cream, cheese, kethcup, musters,… Continue

First Day of Winter, 2008

Baby, it's cold outside! We started out at 5 degrees this morning! THAT"S COLD!

Yesterday was my oldest brother's 43rd birthday. I called him and wished him a happy birthday and he seemed to be having a good day. He and his wife had went out for dinner and they were shopping when i called, waiting for their movie to start. Hadn't heard of the movie, but it sounded like a church made movie, so no wonder.

We've been wrapping (pun intended!) things up for Christmas. We'll… Continue

It's almost Turkey Day!

Well, only 4 days until we are all stuffed to the gills with too much food once again! But that's what this time of the year is all about. Getting together with family and friends, eating good food, and talking about past get togethers and the ones yet to come. It will be a bit more than that this year. My husband's neice is having a baby in the Spring and since she lives in Florida (away from family), we are going to have a baby shower for her Thanksgiving afternoon. Makes sense to me since… Continue

It's fall!!!!

Well, it's Nov 1 and I survived Halloween! I dressed up in my costume and worked all morning, then came home, changed out of the costume that i could no longer BEAR to wear because if was roasting in it! I had about 30 minutes of rest (Sinus infection hit me on THursday!) before I headed in for Bobby's class party. That was a blast. It was the first party that I was able to attend since Bobby's K-4 Easter party. What a difference! Just as wild, but a lot more fun! After the party, we headed… Continue

Okay, so oI've finally signed up for Ravelry and am loving it so far! Unfortunately, I haven't had too much time today to look around as much as I'd like. Since I had my blog URL to my info page there, I decided that I had better update my bog to let people know that I do actually attempt to blog every once in a while. Even though it has been few and far between here lately. It's just so hard to find the time! Between work, BObby, Philip, BObby's homework, MY homework, housework, etc, etc, etc.… Continue

The Olympics are here!

Well, it's been almost a month since my last post. I've been so busy with my classes that I've not had time to blog. I can't see it getting much better either. I have another 2 classes this fall, my knitting, reading, and Bobby's starting 2nd grade this Thursday. He can't wait! He is so tired of daycare. I'm glad he is ready to start back to school. Getting back to a regular routine is better for all of us. Makes our lives so much easier when he can sleep a little later and get to play a little… Continue

Heigh ho, Heigh ho, it's off to work I go!

Well, I've been on vacation this past week, and believe me, I needed it! Didn't go or do anything special.

Eye appt for me and dental checkup for me & Bobby. Good report both places. I need new contact lenses and glasses, which I knew already. I can't wait to get my new glasses. I haven't had new glasses in about 5-7 years. I get new contact Rx each year, but my new eye dpctor found something that my old one didn't. Really glas I switched now. Dental checkup went well as well.… Continue

School is out for the summer... For everyone but me!

Okay, I know, I know! I haven't blogged in a long time. But I've been so busy! I'm taking two summer college courses and I am so bogged down in them that I can't hardly get anything else done! Even the housework is starting to look good as a break! I mean it! I totally cleaned outm y bathroom this wekkend! Drawers, cabinets, cubby holes, everything! I then scrubbed the tub/shower by hand. That is how bad I needed to get away from the periodic table of elements!

Anyway, classes are… Continue

Summer is on the way!

It has been a few weeks since I last blogged. The weekends (which I had originally planned to write) have been so pretty that I can't stand to stay in and spend time on the computer! I have been outside either planting flowers, watering plants, playing with kittens, or just soaking up the beautiful weather. This weekend seems to looks as if it will be the same, so I am getting AHEAD this time, instead of behind!

There are so many things going this weekend in the area. There is a BBC… Continue

A bit chilly today!

Well, I was so busy this weekend that I forgot to blog so I'm playing catchup today instead.

Saturday was beautiful! PHilip & I went to a wine tasting here in Bartlesville. It was a nice gathering, not too many people there when we went, but you could tell there had been quite a few there previously. We got to try a few new wines from some of the vendors that we had been customers of before and also tried a few new wineries as well. There were soe interesting varieties as well,… Continue

A beautiful week of weather!

What gorgeous weather! It has been such a great week for doing anything! PHilip was able to ride his motorcycle to work almost every day. It only rained one day!

Got a lot of things done this weekend. A good friend gave me some plants so i got those planted on Saturday. It already makes my little forlorn flower beds look better. Now to keep an eye out for weeds and make sure to water them. Also was able to clean out my car front to back. I even cleaned out the well in the back end.… Continue

Rain, rain, go away!

We've had more than our share of rain this week. Our pond has filled to capacity and even broke the dam in places. No major damage, but enough as it is. Not sure how much rain we actually got at our house, but I'm guessing about 5 inches this past week alone.

Philip worked on getting more of the downed tree limbs cut up and picked up. We already have two racks of wood and only the yard itself is cleaned up just so that it can be mowed. There are still more limbs that need to be cut… Continue

Another week of new things

Last week, I was experiencing my new blog page and trying to figure out how I wanted it to look. I think I've figured it out how I want it, but in the meantime, I'm having a hard time learning about my newest acquisition - an Apple iPod Nano.

This little gizmo has tried my patience this week! I worked on trying to figure out how to download podcasts (audio radio shows kind of). I knew which podcast I wanted to try first and eventually found a podcatcher (Juice) to download the… Continue

Springtime - a new beginning

Well, this is something new for me. I've never had a blog page before, so this will be an experience for everyone as they travel on this journey of learning more new technology.

I've read blog pages before (mostly knitting blogs) and have enjoyed most of them. Mine will not be a knitting blog. (I don't knit fast enough for a daily or even weekly update on projects! ;op ) THis iwll be more of a weekly update on me and my little family,… Continue
