Entrelac Vest Nearly Completed - finally

After having to frog my vest ribbing (I just couldn't make it work the first time) yesterday, I completed the front ribbing about noon today. I mattress stitched the side seams and completed one arm hole ribbing a little while ago. I picked up and knitted the second arm hole and felt that I needed a litle break. I've been knitting almost nonstop since about noon - took a few breaks for laundry and preparing meals - need to rest my eyes and hands.

I will post the completed garment… Continue

Still working, but slowly

I almost have my ribbing finished on my entrelac vest - ran into a little problem and had to work through it.

My log cabin placemat is nearly finished.

My order from KP was finally released by the warehouse on Monday, and the mail lady couldn't deliver yesterday due to bad weather - ice, high water between me and them. I will have to wait now until she is able to get to my house, or I brave the elements and go to town.

I live in a very rural portion of south… Continue

Finally, and at long last

My computer is finally fixed, I was able to upload new photos and it only took a few minutes on the phone to my computer manufacturer and a couple of minor resets. I'm so happy.

Happy knitting and happy computing.

I started the year blogging frequently, but have gotten so busy knitting, that I just haven't blogged (though I've been on the discussions and blogs daily adding comments and my 2 cents worth. After finishing my first Crayon bolero in 3 days (record for me) I began a pair of my famous collegiate socks, and another bolero (remember I have to knit three). Last week I learned that the yarn I needed for my next project, due in March, would be on sale through Saturday at a local chain store. We got… Continue

Bolero Nearly Finished

I started my granddaughter's Crayon/Shine bolero yesterday morning. I finished the back and most of the right front yesterday, And today with Peggy Stuart's help the left front. I just finished the first sleeve, and will complete the final sleeve, and do construction tomorrow. A three day sweater, never in my life.

Retirement IS good, I love it.

Finally Feeling Better

My cold is finally starting to dry up a bit. So I started on one of the bolero/sweaters for my granddaughters. Of course this means that I will need to knit three - can't just do one - I'd make two others angry with me. Can't have that.

I found a small size bolero pattern and am using Knit Picks Crayon in Buttermilk with edging of Shine Sport in Orchid. The edge is created with the cast on, holding both yarns together for about 1 1/2 inches. So far it is looking pretty… Continue

Retired ... BUT...

My last day of work was Friday. Made it through without tearing up at missing old friends, etc.

But now I have a terrible cold, and feel awful. I haven't felt like doing anything. I knit a little last night trying to finish up an old project, so I could start a pair of socks, or short sweaters for my little ballerina granddaughers (I'm using Crayon in buttermilk, with Shine in Orchid for trim and accent).

I planned to attend out local Fiber Arts Guild meeting tomorrow, but… Continue
