It's such a great feeling to finish a project on time, or ahead of time. In this case the baby blanket is done before the baby is born - something I wasn't sure was going to happen! I just received my Knit Picks order of supplies to start my sock knitting adventure and am very excited! I ordered two books: "Getting Started Knitting Socks" by Ann Budd, and "Sensational Knitted Socks" by Charlene Schurch. Both books look great - lots of detailed instructions and patterns. I also ordered two sock yarns, Risata in Fairy Tale, and Essential in Meadow Multi. The Risata is a little thicker weight and a solid color so I am going to knit my first pair with it.
