Whatever Shall I Buy?!

My baby's daddy gave me an xmas present even though I told him not to upon penalty of death! But that's why I love him anyway. It's a 25 dollar gift card from AmEx. I want to buy yarn of course, but don't want to spend any extra money right now. I don't have enough to buy yarn for the February Lady Sweater, but I really do want to only buy yarn to make myself something.

I was thinking of the lace weight yarn to make the shawl that Peggy did. Here is the problem... I don't own a ball… Continue

Progress.

I finished my mitts. Yayness, oh they are so nice and warm and slightly fuzzy. Now, I only have three projects on my needles. But I may have to start a fourth. I never made anything for Mikey, my friend Sam's son who is 4 months younger than Dino. Either I'll go up to Modern Yarn in Montclair and actually spend money for a nice sweater for him, or head into the city and get some good quality acrylic from Lion Brand... which of course will be cheaper and washable. So I'm really thinking the… Continue

Another Finished Project...

I finished the neckercheif from the alpaca sampler. Sammy likes it. All though she managed to unravel an end at the keyhole that I had to weave back in. Here it is after being blocked.

And because I was bored with my prayer shawl and managed to miscount a… Continue

One Down, ? To Go Before New Years.

I finished Dino's Teddy Cardigan today. It came out wonderful! And he loved it. It was so cute. He was so excited to put it on, because he thought he'd get to wear it to go "bye bye, bus? Train?" (He loves the NYC subway.) It's big on him now, but at least it will last until next winter or so. Here he is after dinner (food still on his face) sitting on his rocking moose (yes moose).

So that leaves me with four projects on my needles.… Continue

On to the next project!

I completed my son's green socks yesterday, they just need to be washed and then he'll be able to wear them. Funny thing is, usually when I finish a project for him he's all excited, this time, I gave him the socks, and he was completely uninterested. Very weird.

My next project that I must get done is his Teddy Cardigan. It was a free pattern from Lion Brand done in Vanna's Choice. I didn't want blue for him, so I chose two shades of green and a cream. I like Vanna's Choice cause… Continue

Mixed feeling about recycled cotton.

My sister Sammy's 22nd birthday was friday, and I should have had her birthday present done before that, but truth is, I didn't start them until yesterday but luckily finished them today.

My sister actually picked out the color, at the Lion Brand Store in… Continue

Thank Goodness For Procrastination.

I just finished my last paper for the semester. I feel awesome. I also have all my laundry done, and everything else, which means I have the weekend to knit! Woo hoo. And of course spend mommy time with Dino, since Daddy wont be visiting this weekend, poops to him and his stupid PMA, you know I look forward to Daddy's visits as well! ^_^ At least I can finally really sit down and USE my Harmony needles. I also decided that I should write a list of my in progress projects so this way I can begin… Continue

Who's afraid of the big bad ball of Suri?

Dino is. I ordered the Cool Alpaca sampler, and it contains a ball of Suri Dream in Gloxinia. Well I thought Dino would love it. (He usually loves feeling yarns up against his face.) Well turns out not. He did not like that ball of Suri at all! He said No! And pushed it away. I think he might have been afraid of it! Anyway, that made my day even more than new Harmony needle set. I think I'm gonna tease him with it, for a while longer... (yes I know I'm such a mean mommy), but the look on his… Continue
