This was Dino on Saturday afternoon. No not Halloween, but November 12, 2011, en route to the Quidditch World Cup. What?! You say? I'm not even joking about that. A bunch of college kids with beer in tow (thank god I dropped out of school) decided to make Quidditch real. So me thinking that it would be… Continue

Bye bye summer vacation. Poop. This is Dino and a shark. We didn't actually get to go into the aquarium, but we'll go next time I suppose.
Now it's back to school. I wanted to get a new sweater and blanket done for Dino for the first day, but that didn't happen. I have a sleeve and a half of the… Continue

Looks pretty doesn't it? I finished it a few day's ago. I don't have lace wires or enough blocking boards to fully stretch it out. It's the… Continue

It's 106 degrees in Newark NJ... this is Simon on the fire escape panting. I'm poor I don't own an AC. And I like to imagine that it makes me loose weight to sweat so much. Don't worry I have a fan for Dino, he told me the other day, "Oh mommy, I'm sweating so much!"
I have been so… Continue

This is the sweater that Dino wore for picture day a couple of weeks ago, it took about 4 days to finish between me and my mom. He wore it unblocked, it remains unblocked. The yarn in Lion… Continue

I have been doing absolutely nothing since my last post. No creating. The same thing, day in day out. Then I realized one day that my arms got fat. Here is a list of possible reasons as to why that my pudding brain came up with. First, Dino is 40 pounds and I physically cannot carry 40 pounds on my hips.… Continue

My Knit Picks order came yesterday and I immediately started a Slytherin house scarf for Dino, using the old stripe pattern from the first movie. I nearly forgot how nice it is to knit with wool. I'm using Wool of the Andes of course, in Forest Heather and Dove Heather, and so far it's coming out rather lovely if I do say so myself:
Sammy has also casted on for her Learn To Knit Kit scarf. She's very happy with the Harmony straight… Continue

That's right folks, I've come to the bitter conclusion that with the psoriatic arthritis in my hands, I can't keep knitting the way I have. I'm tired of the pain and occasional numbness, I'm 24 I don't need that crap.
Therefore, I have decided to teach myself the Portuguese style knitting. It's supposedly easier on the hands and what not. Luckily there are plenty of videos on You Tube.
This is actually how my Greek grandmother used to knit, with the yarn around her neck… Continue

Yes, I know, I technically have two, however, both are specifically designed to hold those huge skeins of cheap acrylic, which I am proud to say, don't use anymore. I basically got them cause they could hold a bunch of my knitting stuffs and they were cheap, as in purchased at the National Wholesale Liquidetors for less then 10 bucks each. Low and behold, the small "single skein" bag retails for about 20 dollars.
Anyway, I WANT A NEW BAG! A better bag, a nicer bag, one that is chic,… Continue

My baby is back... and I have to re train him. He got away with murder at Thomas' house. But I'll retrain him and I'm not too worried cause he'll be starting Early Head Start on Wednesday, it's basically pre-pre K, for the same company that I work for. The reality is the only thing I am worried about is him refusing to potty train he just doesn't want to do it. I will even let him sit in his wet clothes but he'll just take them off and stay naked, that's the other problem, he's a complete and… Continue

Dino has been away all summer with his Daddy, so Mommy can work full time. It has been difficult without my bitty baby, he's my everything. I do get to see him on weekends, which of course is the best, cause I can do all the fun things with him.
I'm not taking a vacation at all, the rest of the staff think I'm crazy, but the reality is I can't afford not to work for a week, my vacation is not paid. Second is, unlike most of them, I don't find my job stressful in the least. Because I… Continue

It's been over a month since my last post, I think... not good at math really. Anyway, all this rain has been terrible on my joints, so I haven't gotten much knitting done, then I had a fight with my baby's daddy, and my sister tried to start a fight with me... so much for all of that. Besides all of that me and Dino are doing well. I bought him a Bitty Baby doll and he loves his baby so much.
Here is a picture of my little boy with his baby, he looks distracted in this… Continue

So I finished, knit it up, pieced it together, sewed on the buttons and tried it on Dino, who refused to take a picture. I have a close up of the collar though.
The color quality of the pictures is off, not good enough lighting I suspect. My iPhone takes better pictures outside. I did get the candy yellow buttons I wanted. I went to M and J Trimmings, I forgot who told me to go there,… Continue

I have two pieces of Dino's cardigan finished, the back and the right front.
I next have to strategically place markers for buttons on the right front so I can make the buttonholes on the left front, fun times. I'm still going with the candy yellow buttons, granted I can find them. I can of course venture to the Upper East side to that infamous button store, that I've heard is more famous for it's terrible customer service than it is… Continue

I didn't like the way the Matinee Swing Jacket was coming out. It's going to be huge and look totally wrong on me. So therefore, I'm taking my 5 skeins of Homespun in Plum and knitting an Open Knit Tunic instead.
It's one of those free project sheet patterns from Red Heart. My mom made one for Sammy a few years ago and I liked the way it came out, so one for myself is now on my needles.
That's a close up of the stitch… Continue

I got an iPhone, which means, not only do I have a new phone, but I have an iPod, and a new camera all rolled into one. I like it, and so does Dino, cause now when we're on a long bus ride he can watch or read a book on it. Fun times indeed.
I also got a nice big order from Knit Picks. I LOVE my new ball winder. It's so fast and Dino likes to help mommy wind balls too! (I know child labor...) He's so cute. I showed him the Imagination yarn I ordered for a sweater for him, and I told… Continue

Dino wrapped up in his new blanket, for your dose of cuteness today:
I've finally finished the Chevron Fantastic Afghan. FINALLY. I don't even remember how long it took me to knit the damned thing. In any case. It's finished, ends woven in and everything!… Continue

Thomas took Dino for the day. I've been home alone, not feeling all that well, but I did manage to make another scarf for Sammy. Sammy does enjoy her scarves.
I wanted to go to the store to get the yarn to finally finish Dino's blanket... but I wasn't… Continue

I am back, with photographs this time!
To begin here is the prayer shawl. This is the last time I posted a picture of it:
It was so small... but now it's finished, and as long as my full size bed.…
