For some reason, I'm rebelling against my summer knitting.
Last weekend, I didn't want to work on my socks, or my lace, or my cotton tshirt projects. They all require concentration that I didn't have, and trying to work on them just felt tedious and frustrating. So I cast on for a… Continue
I'm very, very happy with this piece. What else can I say? It was a long project, but enjoyable at every step of the way, the yarn is luscious, the sweater is warm, but thanks to the lace patterning, not stifling, and I'm wearing it today even tho… Continue
I blocked the fronts and backs already and I'm hoping that these sleeves take only a day to dry, because I have another flight this weekend and I… Continue
With all this recent talk of lace and socks and warm-weather knitting, you might think that I'd forgotten about my City Tweed sweater. Well, I HAVE slowed down a bit, but progress is sti… Continue
Lots of you have probably already noticed the new Lace Samplers that have appeared on our website. They come in 4 rich, pretty colorways and each sampler comes with the pattern to knit both the Chinook Sha… Continue
When I first heard about Worldwide Knit in Public Day, I didn't really understand the concept. I mean, I knit in public ALL THE TIME. On public transportation, in the car, in restaurants,in airports.....at any seated event really. And some un-seated: in line at the post office, at the bank...I could go on and on. So, what's the point of a whole entire day devoted to knitting in public? I already do that!
Then I realized that I have only certain types of projects that I knit on in public. Socks… Continue
The folks at the office have been having a ball with our Gurumi Family:
May was outrageously cute knits month here at KP HQ, in keeping with the Knits for Kids theme of our last catalog. I have a hunch that a few folks in the KAL for Kids aren't going to be able to resist these, either. These toys are cute to both kids and adults alike! Knit o… Continue
We're all excited about the release of our Little Bubbles Baby Set , but I think I'm a little bit extra excited, because this was my first big design project here at Knit Picks, and I've been holding my tongue a… Continue
Here's what I have done so far on my project for the City Tweed! KAL! I'm knitting Veronik Avery's Oblique in the Heavy Worsted City Tweed, Jaquard colorway.

I was eagerly looking forward to the release of Simply Cotton, our new organic cotton yarn, so I snapped some up as soon as it was available. I had visions of a sturdy, everyday tote bag knit out of it. But when I got my yarn, I was seduced by the incredible softness of the fiber into scrapping that plan and choosing a garment to knit out of it instead. This is some soft cotton, and I couldn't stand the idea of… Continue
I'm pretty confident that I'm not the only knitter who's been eagerly anticipating the release of this yarn! It combines so many of my favorite fiber-y things: tweed, deep, dimensional heathered colors, and a wool-alpaca blend! So you can probably understand why I was so hot to start a… Continue
Hi Knitters!
I've been very busy since getting to KnitPicks, but I wanted to share my first project as a KnitPicks employee with you before I wear it out!
I'm not the only one around here who likes to kick off her shoes and make her desk a more relaxing place to spend time, r… Continue
