Peggy & Susan made me do it....

OK they didn't make me do it but they sure didn't stop from encouraging me.

Yes I know the picture a little dark, its because it was 5:30am when I took it. But you can't start a KAL without showing off what yarn you are going to use. Right? I'll have better picture later thi… Continue

When technology stops....

That's what happens when you use digital cameras. Sometimes you need to remember it needs to be charged. Which is what I exactly forgot to do. So there I am yesterday ready to take pictures and there is my camera dead no battery life. So I plugged it in to charged it but had to leave to run errands. UGH!! Well the ugh was partly for the camera (I will have to wait to hopefully this afternoon to post my FO.) and the other was while I was getting some car knitting time, in the end I had to frog it… Continue

Time to Separate....socks that is.

I am in such a weird place in my knitting lately. Its to soon to have Holiday knitting stress isn't it? I'm really not knitting as much as I did last year. Mostly because the DD's wanted stuff early to use this fall/winter. So beside two pairs of thrummed mittens, a few hats, and three pairs of socks, some lumps of coal with Santa hats, and a pickle. Nothing really. :) The most time consuming knitting really are my co-workers socks because there are charts involved. Plain stockinette socks are a… Continue

What A Week...and its not over yet!

This has been one of those life challenges see what your made of type of week. It started with me hand sewing my daughters choir dress during the weekend. Now that might not sound like a big deal to some but for me it was. It was one of those lovely two layer satin and gauzy type material dress with a lovely flare. Now mind you I am not a great sewer I can make a tote bag, a Halloween costume, even a pair of PJ bottoms, but this was one in my book was fine sewing mostly because of the material a… Continue

The Third Thrum Is The Charm...

ROFL!!! OK I'm ROBL!!! Ouch stomach hurts. Whew.. calmer now to tell you what has me in such a hysterical laughter and yes it has to do with thrums. Not just the fun to say part, but the boo boo I made and thanks to Susan I figured it out! So the thrummed mitten continues sort of they got ripped backed again. See Susan asked me why my outside stitches seemed so loose when she see these mittens with the outside stitches looking tighter. Hmm... well that got me thinking (I should really cut that… Continue

Well I finished it on Monday but I just getting to post it today Actually I was going to post it yesterday and when I thought I hit the publish button I accidentally deleted the whole thing. So hear is what I was going to say. It is socked, blocked and dry and it scurried away with DD. She loves it! Now to pin her down for a picture. I think the hat came out a little long but she loves it that way. So for now these are the only pictures I have. Boy is it hard to pho… Continue

Haha... OK ready??? I am! WARNING!!! THIS IS ONE HEAVY PICTURE FILLED POST!! The slippers are dry,the roving is near, and the needle is sharp! Really, really sharp! No felting needles around little ones. Thankfully DD is keeping little man busy so I can do this.

WIP's and things...

Just wanted to do a quick post of my current wips. I'm hoping that way it will be one more way of keeping me on track. So when I gave my DD her Ritzy fingerless for her birthday she loved it so much she asked for a scarf and hat to match ( match in the sense of the same yarn). Well I was trying to find a quick mindless knit scarf I could work on bit by bit for those squeeze in need a knitting break life moments. One I can't knit Christmas gifts with them around and two I figure that way I would… Continue

Just Couldn't Wait!!!

I just couldn't wait to share. I'm like a five year old this morning. After taking the kids to school I came home and put my Keep Away slippers in the washer machine. Then came upstairs for quick cup of coffee. Well right around that time I got another message from DH who is coming home today. I say another because he has been on & off the phone with me all morning since early because he is not feeling well at all.Which has me a bit worried because it sounds like what I am currently getting… Continue

Knitting In Progess.....

So I thought I was going to be able to post these yesterday but I know better than to make plans. :) After a Saturday morning of rainy, windy, cold soccer practice and game. Off the DK's and I went to run just a couple of errands. School stuff seems to always be in need even after buying everything you thought they could possibly need. Otherwise I would have just stayed home. When we did get home my DD wanted to take over my laptop to go searching through Ravelry to look for a hat and scarf patt… Continue

FO Time!!!

OK so I haven't been feeling up to par lately and life's challenges were starting to get to me a bit ( if you read my last post you know what I mean if you didn't no biggie don't bother looking I deleted it sounded to much of a downer when I reread it) Anyway thank goodness I am on vacation for the these next five days. Hopefully will be able to rest, knit, and recover from whatever has decided to make me feel ill (cold, flu, allergy's who knows). This evening though with the help of my DD's I was… Continue

Wow its been awhile....

I think this is the longest I have gone without posting (didn't check) I did look at my last post however to see where I left off. Yeah its been awhile. Boy did I sound whiny or what? I can tell now I that was when I was starting not to feel well. Plus the to much going on and the feeling of not enough hours in the day. Poor CLC. Sometime even when you think a project may be simple it is best to try those new challenges when things are not so hectic. I know that but stubbornness and wanting to k… Continue

Sweater Challenged.....ugh!!!

How absolutely frustrating sweater knitting is for me. I swear I must be sweater challenged. It seems everyone else can knit beautiful sweater were as I just end up knee deep in the frog pond where I have to put my shoes aside to dry off. Oh by the way I don't mean knitting an entire sweater and oops to big, small, sleeves that touch the ground. No...I can't seem to get out of the starting gate around the first lap! OK I'm breathing and calming down some sort of not really. UGH!!! I don't mind ch… Continue

Its A Cowl.. No its my CLC

Yay !! I finally have cast on for my Classic Line Cardigan. I started with a 32" cable then switch to a 24" somehow that was easier for me to start off with. Hopefully when I try it on I wont have rip out and it will be the right size. Since I have a road trip tomorrow I hope this it will be all set ( ripping out, casting back on if need be) for the long car ride.

Zephyr's & Lightning

One dark morning...4:30am to be exact a knitter was trying to sleep in on her day off. See this knitter gets up really early so this would be considered sleeping in. When all of a sudden she is woken up to the loudest thunder & lightning ever! Awaken by the display of flickering lights outside and the sounds of a drum core the knitter went into the living room and checked the weather to see how serious and how long this weather pattern was going to be. Reassured by the weather man on TV ( I… Continue

What's a knitter to do........

So I had a very lovely Saturday morning break and made good progress on my Noble Cowl. As it turned out DH and the girls had their day planned for that day. Painting the garage. So since someone has to watch little man it turn out that I had some more knitting time while little man played in his sandbox. Now before you think anything horrible let me say the girls like to help, plus they get compensated for these extra jobs. After Saturday's job the DH and DG's went out to Target and then the movi… Continue

Early Riser

I am an early riser.Really early ( I see the sunrise early). That's one of the thing I love about my job. Go to work early get out (most of the time) early. Today was a really easy morning at work and after three rainy (sometimes stormy) days I was so happy to come home early, take my coffee and my Noble Cowl outside for a great morning knitting break. It is so great I had to share.
