Finally I'm knitting socks that are just for me. This is only my third pair of socks and I just love knitting socks. These are the warm, wooly socks for winter. They are made using 100% worsted weight wool. I don't live near any yarn store so I'm limited in what is available around here. I have a wish list going on knit picks though.

I was so excited to finish the Spiral tube socks for my sister that I started another pair right away. Only this pair of socks actually has a heel flap, heel turn, gusset and whatever other anatomy of a sock there is -- this sock has it! A big 'thank you' to Sage Gypsy for the pattern but I have a confession to make...I improvised! I took the advice from two others as well and hoped for the best. So far, I've only had to work out minor hurdles.

Don't know why I thought I'd be happy doing other stuff and not knitting. Knitting is great. It's so calming and constructive. Life goes on all around me and I'm in my own little knitted world. I think I'll try to make a pair of socks. The first attempt at sock knitting turned into a winter hat [what's that called??] for my grandson. Now to get started.
