Knitting pattern for Men's cardigan with Shawl Collar, Where can I find this?

I have been looking everywhere online to find a knitting pattern for a really nice, button up, Cardigan sweater with a shawl collar for men to make for myself.  I want to find one that has a variety of stitch patterns and cabling, a lot like what you might find in Ireland.  I don't like pull over sweaters at all, as I tend to get too hot in them.  I want this sweater to act as a light jacket in place of a bulky over coat.  I am just about ready to pull my hair out trying to find such a…

Summer Knitting

I have a heel! Oh, do I like this. So far, I am very happy with the way these are turning out. Wendy, this is a great book!

I've searched for days for an appropriate pattern or some guidance for the toe up socks - I really hate having to knit a second sock, and I love socks, so I need this methodology.

Somewhere between late last night and this evening it all came together, and I KNOW I can knit these

I did my Turkish cast on this evening and am about… Continue

Traditional Heel Turn for Toe Up Socks

OK, I have knitted socks cuff down with the heel flap/heel turn deal. Now, I have knitted a complete pair of socks toe up. I like the heel flap method for cuff down, but I find the toe up more suitable for me. I am not good at the grafting the toe thing!!!! Is there such a technique? Did I tmention, I am new at the whole knitting thing?
