The weather has warmed up a bit, and our bulbs are emerging.
We also have daffodils, as do our neighbors. The ski resorts closed after Sunday's operation. Soon they will gear up for taking mountain bikers up the hill to ride down. DGD1 brought home her snowboard and boots… Continue

It has been another crazy week. Besides my spring cleaning, Ellen and I got together to watch Mary Sorensen's hand-appliqué DVD.
I got out my almost-finished block. This is the cardinal design she uses in this wonderful instructional DVD. I took her… Continue

We had Vintage Stitchers at my house on Thursday. Barbara finished sewing the binding on this quilt while she was here.
Carol has been working on this "moment of insanity" quilt. (I've had several like that.) The reason it's a moment of insanity quilt is because she had no idea how many… Continue

Our daffodils bloomed just in time for Mother's Day!
The hummingbirds are back, too. The hiking trails are almost clear of snow. The mud is starting to dry on the trails, so we decided to take a hike in Toll Canyon, near our home, on Wednesday. It looked like a nice day when we started out, but it… Continue

We're still at home, since BS hasn't put in his appearance this early, but we'll be taking off soon, regardless.
One of my projects this week was to finish the baby hat DGD1 started when she was here. I used it to teach her how to knit in the round, and then I continued it, but it has been… Continue

Today is Daphne's birthday! It's hard to believe it has already been two years!
Here's one of her new toys. It's a castle slide, just right for a little princess with an imagination and lots of energy. Baxter, the dog, enjoys watching her play on it, especially because it means she plays outdoors longer. Her little brother is… Continue

I'm knitting little things:
It's a pair of socks for me, out of Knit Picks Stroll Glimmer in "Fiji." The Dogwood Blossoms sweater is too difficult to work on with Miss Daphne in the room. She had to take each ball of yarn out of the bag, and a couple of times pulled the sts out of my needles. The socks are easier to hold onto and walk around… Continue

The big FO for this week was the felted bag for my MacBook:
Here it is in use (above), and then just to show off the lining:

The Crocuses (Croci?) are coming up!
That thing that looks like an iceberg floating on the street is...an iceberg. Actually, it's snow DH threw into the street to melt.
"The Shawl" is done, blocked and photographed:…

Finished the two up socks today. My DIL said to make then ankle length... so this are according to her specifications. My neighbor tried them on so that I could get a good pic on feet
And to verify our weather, the final photo is called Spring Time in Ohio
Temperatures today in the 60s, tomorrow's forecast calls for… Continue

I've updated our downloadable desktop wallpaper
for spring to freshen things up.
We kept the popular flirty socks and Bare ice cream
images up there, plus added some of Christy's spring yarn catalog images (… Continue

After the heavy snow we got a few days ago, spring is coming back. The sun and the foehn melted a lot of the snow away. I really hope this winter thing to be over now ... I spent this afternoon sitting outside in the sun, watching our cats catching snowballs I made for them, reading and knitting and listening to my favourite music. It was so peaceful!
My sweater "Sweetheart" keeps growing; I finished the body part (front and back)… Continue

It's so odd as a garment designer always working several seasons ahead. We're just about to start work on some new Fall patterns - warm, richly colored, cozy knits. But as for me? I can't wait to don my summer dresses already! Give me SPRING!
I am so glad for yarns like Shine Worsted
and the new Comfy. They allow me to swatch new cable patterns and ideas for fall, but use a warmer-weather… Continue
