High Fiber—Thankful for Furry Friends, Frozen Flakes and Fiber Fun.

We got more snow Friday night, so Saturday was great for snowshoeing.

Here are my favorite snowshoeing companions: DH, Rocky (wearing black) and Sunny (in brown).

Sunny was busy collecting snowballs on the trail, which she showed off after she got into the car.

Snowshoeing was a nice way to finish out the…

High Fiber--Sarak's Visit Part 1

Sarak was with us for Valentine's Day:

Sarak, for people who don't listen to The Knit Wits Podcast (http://knitwitspodcast.blogspot.com/), is an aborted attempt by Carin (the Knit) to make a Christmas stocking for an acquaintance. Carin eventually made the stocking using other yarn, but this little piece of knitting history is now on tour, and currently with me in Park City, UT. The name was… Continue

High Fiber--Family and Friends...and Birthday!

What a Christmas it has been! How wonderful to have family around you with it's accompanying chaos!

Daphne's BSJ is perfect; just big enough to be able to last for a while, but still small enough to wear now! The quilt was a big hit, too! They loved the colors and the label with the photo of their little…

High Fiber--Fluffy and Cold!

We got another blizzard, starting Saturday night. Here's what it looked like midday on Sunday:

This is the time of year to be concerned with those less fortunate. Do you carry a packet of nonperishable food in your car? You never know when you might come across someone in need. Our Squeeky…

High Fiber--Frolicking with Furry Friends....

Now that I have your attention...

That's Gabriella. You have seen her before if you have read a previous blog post. She's the orphaned baby alpaca my friend Linda has been raising with a bottle. You will see more of her later.…

High Fiber--Bound for Heaven!

This week found DH and me on a snowshoe outing with a special purpose.

As you may know, my DSIL, Eileen, passed away October 4th. She wanted her ashes scattered at the top of one of the local ski resorts, on the snow. We had to do this before the resort opened but after there was snow to snowshoe on. Friday…

Busy, Busy...This and That

Between cleaning the fiber studio, finishing up Ravelympics stuff and normal activities, it's been a busy week.

Above is what the fiber studio looks like today, after nearly two days of work. The piles of finished projects and the bags of projects in my pipeline or queue are still lurking. The white shrouded thing on the back counter is my serger. The pink mass peeking out from under the table that looks like cotton candy is some… Continue

Progress!

This has been a productive week in terms of UFOs and WIPs! First, I finished my Oregon Socks, which I began in May, 2008, during a trip to Oregon.

The yarn is KP's Gloss in "Parsley." The pattern is Ariel Barton's Cable Net Socks from…

January Knitting and Spinning

I've been working on the "Dolly" baby sweater from Jaeger Handknits, 27 Designer Garments by Martin Story for Babies and Children, using KP's Stroll (actually, old "Essential" I bought on sale months ago) in "Glacier," a discontinued color. I just finished the back:

Here's the front:

I managed to… Continue

Merry Christmas!

To all the knitters and spinners at the Knitting Community: Merry Christmas, and I hope you have a great extended weekend with friends, family, knitting and spinning!

Our DS2 is visiting. Saturday morning he and DH went snowshoeing with our pups, Rocky and Sunny.

Here's what it looked like at our party Saturday night. The cute guy in the tuxedo is my DH! We had a nice time,… Continue
