Tina Finished Vest

I have been terrible at taking pictures and blogging about finished projects. I really, really have been knitting as much as ever, and here is a little proof. This is my Nederland Vest (from the fall 2008 issue of KnitScene) in… Continue

Tina Another UFO Bites the Dust (in a good way)

Finally finished with my second Positano Tote! I had terrible procrastinationitis about the lining, but finally just made myself do it this weekend. I brought it to work today, full of all my normal purse stuff plus my newest knitting project (photo below). I love that it stands up by itself and holds so much. Pattern: Positano Tote from Interweave Knits, Wint… Continue

Tina Wearing Lace Shawls

I've heard a lot of people say they don't know how they would wear lace shawls, and that keeps them from knitting them. We think lace shawls are infinitely wearable (you don't even have to look like an old lady when you do wear them!), and here is Nina to demonstrate: The shawls shown, in order, are: Chinook Shawl - from the Lace Yarn Sampler Kits, shown in the Deep Sea colorway… Continue

Tina Yet another pair of fingerless mitts

My new addiction - fingerless mitts, especially fingerless mitts in City Tweed. Again, they were a one-skein project; that's hard to beat! These are from the Always & Forever Fingerless Mitts free pattern on Ravelry, using… Continue

Tina Lace Shawl - Finished!

Yahoo! Finally finished with my modified version of the Lady's Circular Cape from Victorian Lace Today, knit in Shadow lace yarn in the Spring Green Heather color. It was a little boring to knit, which is why it t… Continue

Tina Quick Knit

Wow, the Fetching Mitts were super fast to knit, and the City Tweed HW makes them so warm! I made the cabled sections on these a little longer than the pattern calls for because I like mitts that cov… Continue

Angela First sweater recommendations?

I FINISHED something! Yippeeee!

My monster laptop bag is finally done. I especially like the teeth. I'm still looking for the perfect pair of monster eye buttons, but other than that, it's finished. I think maybe I'll name it Norman. Now that I've completed Norman, I've c… Continue

StringMeUp The Joy of Completion

Ah, that wonderful feeling that comes with a completely finished sweater! I finished the Sirdar Jacket yesterday; seams, buttons and all. I'm still insanely obsessed with that Swish Bulky yarn, and I can't wait for my latest order to arrive . . . . Meanwhile, I'm finishing the last sleeve of the Refined Aran Jacket, a Veronik Avery design from Interweave Knits Fall '07 - done in Comfy, and it's knitting up just beautifully. Hopefully that one will be finished and ready for posting this week! Continue

Tina Socks - Toe Up

I'm teaching a toe-up, two at a time magic loop sock class, so I've been playing with a new (to me, anyway) heel, which I am loving! When you knit socks toe-up, the traditional heel flap ends up underneath your heel - the part you walk on. But, I like having that slip stitch cushiony-ness on the back of my heel too, so this tim… Continue
