Father Layne & Casey are going to stay...

Father Layne & Casey are going to stay...for a few days with us until their house in Ft. Worth is ready for move in. Casey and I will have a lot more knitting together time, and Mark and Layne can visit, too. I'm so excited, but not looking forward to their moving off. These things happen. :(

Spinning, spinning, spinning, ply-ing!!!

I have so much to say and such little time! Lol. My mind has been in a whorl since last week. I finally finished finishing my new Turkish drop spindle from Knit Picks. cocktails and dreams.... to cashmere and dreams?

i have been toying around with the idea of starting a yarn shop. I know this is a HUGER than HUGE endeavor, but it has just been popping around in my mind. why you might ask?

Making Progress on my "Seaweed" Throw

I'm currently knitting the "Seaweed" Throw from Kristin Spurkland's The Knitting Man(ual). I put the word seaweed in quotes because it was given that title for the color she knit it in, but I'm using City Tweed Poseidon instead. So far, I LOVE it! Here are some pictures of what I've got so far!

Crochet and knitting club!

I joined a crochet and knitting club at my local library. I missed the first meeting two weeks ago because I had to work. I put in a schedule change at work for Thursday off so that I could go because I was really looking forward to it and I didn't want to miss anymore gatherings. I work every weekend and only one day a week so I don't think it was a big deal to be off that day. Anyway, I went this Thursday and there was about fifteen ladies knitting and crocheting. Chunky Slippers

I should start over since I hit an incorrect key and it took me out of the Blog Post. Again, I'm a long time knitter (on and off) and mostly working with basic pattern projects. Now I'm attempting to make the Chunky Slippers and it has a number of stitches that I am not familiar with. Please help. One down.... HOW MANY TO GO?!?!?!

So I have been trying to manage my time and knitting projects to finish some things off before I start any new ones! Last night, I finished the baby blanket I have been working on for my friend, Kerin. I started in July- but got sidetracked!
