I absolutely agree with you! I just wish I felt this way less often,

I love the Andean Chullo Hat Kit!
Can I use Fair Isle? I am not so good at Colorwork (Intarsia) :(
And the same question for the bag!

I had to smile when I heard your newest podcast on making scarves. I just got my new size 7 (10" straight) Harmony Needles. And I just fell in love! I cast on a scarf I revised from a Ripple Shawl Pattern (multiple of 18 + 6 st);
Cast on 30 sts (worsted weight wool blend)
ROW 1: (rs) Knit
ROW2: K6, purl to last 6, K6
ROW3: K6, *[K2 tog] 3 times, [YO,K1] 6 times, [K2 tog] 3times; repeat from * to last 6 sts, K6.
ROW4: Knit
I also did a scarf using…

I have to admit that I'm not the hugest Harry Potter fan in my family. My dad and my sister have both read all of the books, and I've only read, um, 2 chapters of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. BUT I have seen all the movies. Since my dad is such a big fan, I'm thinking of knitting him something from…

Ok, I don't know where I've been but I just noticed that you can see a list of all blog posts on KP! I was wondering how I could find these (public) posts without having to click on every individual name in the community!!! This is awesome, I hope I can connect with more knitters this way by following what they are doing. I don't have a real knitting group outside of this, so this is where I have to share my progress and see what others are doing. FUN!

One of my favorite tasks here at work is to proof the podcast every Friday. It's half an hour of knitting/listening enjoyment. I bring a small knitting project to work with me every day to be on hand for meetings, lunch, etc. My current "mindless" project is the…

Oh it has been an exciting morning at my house! I feel like I should run out into the street like the Yarn Harlot and shout "WHOO HOO!" I took some pictures luckily before my camera stopped focusing. I think it might be dying. Anyway, I used the sewing machine to secure the edges with a row of small straight stitches on…

My sampler arrived today and the yarns are gorgeous, but the pattern looks so difficult. I don't even know what PU means. I have been knitting in the round, but have never knitted socks. Will I be able to do this?

It's been a very long time since I posted anything here. I have had a very productive summer, although I have never finished the Moderne Baby Blanket. One of these days...
I just finished up a Clapotis using Evil Stepmother Imagination. I love that yarn. I made the Clapotis for a friend for her birthday, but I really wanted to keep it for myself. I bought four skeins, but only used three. So I think I am going to make a smoke ring from the leftover skein.
I have since…

I work for a small company on the far West side of Madison. I am one of only two women, surrounded by a LOT of men. A lot of dorky, poorly socialized, idiot men. I'm in the accounting department, as is the other women, and we are constantly fixing the guy's errors and screw ups. They are a truely motley crew, or as one of them puts it, "this [company] is the island of misfit toys". But still somehow, I'm surprised that the reaction to my knitting is usually, "Are you pregnant?"
Nope.…

With the ongoing problem of too many projects, I've been trying to split my time between them. Tonight I've been working on the socks, my Newlywedness scarf, and Hubby's hat.
The socks are the most fun though. The way the yarn stripes itself as it goes along is so amazing. Everyone who sees them says to me "Wow, great color choices, but is it hard to keep switching yarns?" Nope! Not at all. It's really a great thing.…

I am astounded at how quickly this shawl knit up and how happy I am with the results. It feels light as a cobweb and is a perfect size. Long enough to wrap generously around my friend's shoulders. It is also narrow to fit on a hospital bed.

The blocking went quickly with the use of blocking wires. I had thought about wetting it at the office but I love the smell of…

My boss is in a meeting, and I can't continue on with what I have to finish until he comes back. So I'm sitting here wasting precious time doing nothing, when I *could* be knitting. I don't think he'd appreciate it if he came out from his meeting and I was knitting away on my sock though.
I'm happy though, because this weekend should be nice and quiet, which will allow for plenty of knitting time. October, on the other hand, is full of one busy (mostly knit-free) weekend after…

Ever wonder what to do with those extra balls of yarn? Just make a few scarves and hats.
I went throgh some things and found alot of yarn that I'm using at the moment. Recently I brought a copy of Lynne Barr's book, "Knitting new scarves". It give you wonderful ideas on combinding yarns and making things into a work of art. It have given my ideas to take what I have and make into some nice winter girfts for friends.
Things up at the house are going well.
Most of…

I've finished the corset I was making on time thanks to a very rainy day and a dentist appointment.
What do you think?

Hope it fits now. She has tried it on mid process but you know something might have gone wrong.…

Everything I'm working on is coming along great, but since I'm working on several projects, it's always hard to decide which one to work on. If only I could convince my boss to let me knit all day at work, lol.
I started a scarf tonight that I'm calling my Newlywedness Scarf. I designed it myself. The colors are close to our wedding colors, and my new initials will be on the scarf. It's looking really cool. Hopefully I have enough yarn. I used Excel to plot it out; here's what the…

Oh, yes, it is the season for me to be jolly. I have turned into a total knit knut. I don't think about much else or do much else but knit this time of year. I have my projects planned and the yarn bought to take me all the way to spring. The colder it gets the more I knit.
I buy my yarn everywhere but the majority of it comes from Knit Picks. There are no better bargins I have found anywhere else. The new yarns for fall are great.
I suppose I sound just like everyone else here, don't…

I purchased a pattern on line and am having some trouble. Can anyone tell me how to do a slip, slip, purl? Do you purl the two sliped stitches or do you purl the next stitch?

I thought I'd post a picture of my new spindle that a friend made for me. I've put his website on the picture as a bit of an advert for him :) Shameless I know ;)
