Latest project- it's CROCHET!!!

I hardly ever crochet anymore- but this felt so good I couldn't put it down!! I found this pattern last evening and when I couldn't sleep at 3 in the am, I started this and was almost done with it when I decided to try to sleep again at 5. Argh! I'm not sure she/I can handle it...

OK... So I looked at all the helpful links and posts about helping to make the blanket for my Aunt A. It took me close to an hour to make 1 lousy cupcake, that looks really weird... I really don't know if my work is just too tight or what, but I cannot imagine making 35 more of these myself- let alone trying to teach a woman who has never knit/crocheted before...

Dreading the family party...

Hi everyone! Low Fiber

Crochet Fish

I just finished this fish for my daughter, she's sixteen, so I was surprised she wanted it. It came out pretty good. And it didn't take long to make. I spent Monday evening doing it. BAD puppy or BAD mommy???

We got a puppy in March of this year. Her name is Maya and she is a beagle mix mut. We are absolutely head over heels in love with her. We got her at 8 weeks old. She was crate trained at our house and ended up sleeping in our bed at night (thanks to my husband). Since I have summers off as a teacher, she has been in her crate less and less during the day because shes out and about with me. We recently started leaving her in the living room/kitchen area of the house when we go out without her.… Continue

Chaos! and planning

The past couple of weeks have been insane over here in Fiddle Knits Design world. July is my busiest month by far for performing in 2010 and then to top it off I had some major design deadlines (all of which have been met) and a wedding to attend.



The Homegrown String Band has so far traveled to Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia this month. Some of the gigs have been good and few... well, not so much. But I'm going to spare you all and won't get into doing… Continue

A new Week in the world according to ..

So, I made it to worship and through the weekend I accomplished a few other things:

  1. I knitted for an hour during the Sunday School hour on a prayer shawl I want to finish this summer
  2. My husband and I executed several thousands (seemingly) of West Texas "sticker burrs" in our front and back yards

I hate that stupid blanket!!!

As you can already tell i'm getting REALLY frustrated with my blanket. What you don't know is my 2 yr old neice decides it's time to play!!!! She ripped the whole thing apart! I wanted to kill her but she's said "But I was trying to help! I saw you doing the same thing a little bit ago...What could I say? I told her i loved her and don't worry about it. Newest projects!

Hi all! I have been knitting for such a long time... but started getting bored of the same few patterns. I knit blankets for my family members, baby blankets for my friends new little ones, and some scarves along the way. I never thought I could handle putting together a sweater- so I stayed away.
