Let me tell you a story.
It's a story about what happened to me at the yarn store last week end.
It's a story about my most recent WIP
It's a story of betrayal, political intrigue, love, and, of course, yarn.
So sit back, grab you glass and read my story...
My LYS is my favorite place to be. I go there every Sunday afternoon almost without fail. The girls go to my folk's and Ron employs himself elsewhere from the hours of 1-4.…

We took a very long care ride today visiting family and I had three hours of totally uninterrupted knitting on my Hemi.
I am now on Row 60, and will definitely have enough of the Suri Dream Rose Quartz to finish the whole project.
Yesterday I received my Golding Tsunami drop spindle and some roving to spin. Today my friend who owns a fiber farm near by dropped off three samples of roving (Merino, Mohair/Merino blend, and Babydoll) to try out.
As soon as my Hemi…

Here I go again I'll be shipping him off asap so Sonny can't get him. Oh well I'll have lots of practice knitting Sheldon. Got to laugh and carry on. Good thing my sister dosen't…

Howdy! I knit all my socks, toe up, on 2 circular needles. Before finding KnitPicks, I bought the more expensive brands, not knowing any better.
I've tried the magic loop, using one long circular needle and found that the 2 circular needles were easier to handle.
After finding KnitPicks, I bought a few sock yarns, and went crazy! KnitPicks is my only source for sock yarns. I love the prices and quality! I've knitted over 15 pairs of socks in the last couple of years and my…

I'm a new member of this knitting community and I've been working on the winter Kettle Dyed Sock Sampler. I got my first digital camera for Christmas, so I've been taking pictures of knitting projects. I've finished one January sock and most of a T-shirt sweater since then.…

Some may call me ADD, some may call me a flitter, a buzzer, just never sitting still. I always have something to do.Whether it be laundry, bills, children, husband, friends. I realize that my hands must always be busy. You may not know and almost believe I am beening rude. Yet when I sit down to wait at an appointment, watch my child play at something or enjoy a visit with you, my hands are busy. I am not trying to keep to myself, being a dutiful mom, or ignoring you on my visit. I am…

I finally finished the first project, the scarf. I suppose I should learn to purl and tackle something new. Any suggestions? I love the ease and access of the video tutorials on this Knit Picks site!

How come I've lived in New England for almost 15 years and have just now caught on to thrummed mittens? All winter I have been wearing a pair of gloves inside the mittens I knitted for myself. This is awesome. I will definitely have to make some for next winter. I am afraid, though, that if I even get near some roving I will want to learn how to spin...oh the dilemma! Well, I will have to get my hands on some and see! It's still way cold here with more snow expected this weekend.

My friend in Maine received her
gloves, and the name of the photo album she sent me was "In which I try to make you a thank you card for the gloves and Sadie tries to eat the note."…

Just thought to share something with you.
Another thing has me giggling for days now whenever I think of it. Last weekend I finally got up the guts to start on getting stuff together to learn how to knit a shawl in lace pattern (see "another test project" blog). Never done much lace knitting and usually made a right dog's dinner of it.
So I went to my wonderful better half, showed him the pattern and asked him what he thought of it and would it suit me. Well, he got his…

Yes, KP duty is an important part of knitting! I keep in touch with my knitting group by e-mail between meetings, which we have once a month. That means I do a lot of knitting in front of my laptop, connected to the internet.
One advantage of the knitting group is that when one of us wants to order something from Knit Picks--say an inexpensive item, like one…

I have stalled out for a bit on my October Falling Leaves socks... both of my parents were in the hospital recently, and my dad just had surgery today so he will be in for a while longer. But I have been making progress on my Great American Aran Afghan project... three blocks finished! Finished one hat, another set of mittens, and am 3/4 finished with a knitted cape I started on a wild train trip into Canada with other knitters a few weeks ago. So amid all the 'stuff' getting in the way of…

It took me so long to post about this project because I lost the page with the pattern on it. I cleaned out my craft room this week and found it! I pulled the pattern out of a "Crafts 'n Things" magazine, though all I have is the page that I pulled out and it doesn't list the issue date. I'd guess the issue was last summer.
The original pattern was for mittens and scarf and this hat and all had a red cherry on top. I changed it to…

I am getting ready for a trip in a couple of weeks and am already dreading it...worried that they'll take my nickel-plated needles away. I know I can bring a self-addressed stamped envelope, but then I wouldn't be able to bring them with me. I don't even know what projects I'm bringing with me, but will probably bring the Kool-Aid sock yarn. I'm sure I could get through with wood dpn's, but don't love using them. It's a 3 hour flight, a 2-hour layover, and another hour and a half…

I finished Janet Levy's square last night...it took me 9 days! :( I have to do one more and my goal is the end of the month as it is a gift for Mom's B-day. Because it is going to be a pillow, I think I am going to do something totally different for the 2nd side, perhaps the lacy-looking one that is knit in the round. I'll have to copy and enlarge the chart today so I can get started tonight.

Yep Tuesday's day off turn out to be a more productive knitting day than I thought it would be. In the morning I worked on my pi shawl, now given how many repeats I have left ( too many to count) not very noticeable, but I'm pleased. Then came my Sugar Maple socks. I was able to make good progress yesterday with only the toe left of the second sock to do today. Since I was so proud of my progress yesterday afternoon, yesterday evening I cast on for…
