About Me:
My husband and I own a small farm in northeast Iowa and raise Red Angus and Limousin cattle. I have recently restarted knitting and am enjoying it more than ever, especially with the introduction of sites like this one and Ravelry. I also enjoy quilting and horseback riding and spending time with friends family and of course grandchildren. There is a lovely yarn shop in a town close to me...Blue Heron knittery in Decorah, Iowa. She, Sarah, the owner is very helpful.

I love your photo gallery, especially all the hostas!!!!  Please put my name on a list of people who would die to get some trimmings when it is time to break them up!!!!

BTW, I emailed you, and thank you for "friending" me!

Virginia, I'm sorry to hear about Buffy. My cat, Ebenezer, is getting up in years (16) and has a heart condition too, so I imagine he won't be with me much longer (though he's had his heart condition for 2 years and has been on pills twice a day that whole time and still keeps going). I try to appreciate him while I can--even if he gets in the way of my knitting or typing on the computer, like he is right now. :)

Virginia- your response might not have been to me, but I will answer anyway. And let others have a say, too. Whatever yarn you use, it needs to be soft. My head was SO sensitive when my hair was coming out. And stayed nearly that way all through chemo. So if you are knitting for warm weather wear like I do in GA,use a soft cotton. KP's simply cotton and Shine worsted are wonderful. And lots of colors. If it's to be worn in a cold climate I'd go with Merino It just needs to not be scratchy. PS- I love your photos! the flowers remind me so much of my MI garden.-Martha

Thanks for your kinds words about my spinning and yarns! I've only been spinning 3 weeks now. :) I don't have time, either- but I'm doing it anyway. :) You have some gorgeous landscaping pictures on your page! And the bride must be your daughter? Congratulations! The baby birds are soooo cute, too. What a cool picture. :) Happy knitting.
