That's why this particular shawl has languished in its bag. It is my travel shawl because of all the garter stitch. If I keep the border relatively simple, I will be able to continue using it as my travel project.

I am so sorry to be late in replying to your note. I am still working on Elizabeth Zimmermann's Stonington Shawl with my Shimmer Bayou. It is a simple, garter stitch pattern that allows the colors to shine. I am going to have a lacy border of some kind just to make it extra pretty.
