About Me:
I have been knitting, crocheting and sewing since I was ten. This past year I decided to expand my interests and am teaching myself nalbinding and bobbin lace. My other interests are wildlife rescue, pets and reading. I have been a wildlife rescuer for 15 years. I currently share my house with my two grown daughters, a son-in-law, two grandchildren, two dogs, two cats, a gray squirrel and an eastern flying squirrel.

Urgent socks

I was moving right along with my Icelandic Shawl when an alarm went off in my head. My DBIL's Bday is next weekend. I had intended to make him socks for his Bday but I should have started them last month. So I put my shawl aside and cast on some fairly basic ribbed socks. Now I'm knitting my little fingers to the bone to get them done by next weekend. Thanks to my Options Needles I can go lickety-split. I've knit something for almost every member of my family except for Juan so this is important… Continue

I got my latest KP order today

It's always a good day when I receive a box from KP. I got two sets of Options points and set of cables (for my daughter's set. Every month I order two sets and cables until she has a whole set) this is the same way I got my set.
I got the Hugo Hat kit (gotta love the City Tweed) and the big thing was A Gathering of Lace by Meg Swanson. I've been drooling over it all afternoon. Still working on my Icelandic Shawl. Still have lots of UFOs But tonight I will dream of all the lace I could be workin… Continue

Recycle old business cards

In the Montavilla Market Bag KAL we were asked for good and wacky recycle ideas. As usual I'm a day late (okay, a month or two late) I found a new use for old business cards (I just found a whole box of mine from 10 years ago)l
I punch a hole in the corner of them, write each row of a pattern repeat on the back of the card, attach them together on a ring (make sure they are in the right order) and Voila! you have not only a row counter, but you can be sure you are following the correct pattern r… Continue

Guilty

I belong to several KALs here and was inspired to knit, knit, knit. I finished one of my two Mr. Fosters, got about half way on my entrelac scarf, finished quite a few UFOs. So what happened to make me feel guilty? In July I got a Kindle for my birthday. Now my knitting sits idle, except for a couple of projects that had deadlines. I need to start keeping up with the KALs, I need inspiration. So I got the new KP catalog a couple of days ago, and there she was Carmen Bananas and the new Zephyr ne… Continue

Hi Jude,
Thanks for the info. No the link did not copy. I'm not really sure how you do it. Sometimes it works for me and sometimes it doesn't. Not really sure how to use Etsy. I've done a bit of looking when someone puts a link up, but that's all I really know about it. Is it somewhat like ravelry, where you can type in what you're looking for? Again, thanks. Wendy

Jude,
I love your posts. They're so funny. I was going to ask you if one of your favorite things besides knitting and spinning is 'jousting knights'? I am still chuckling over that post. Even my hubby thought it was really funny.

I saw you have a pirate panda in your photo collection. I was wondering where you got the pattern, and if it was hard to do. My daughter's sorority mascot is a panda, and in April they always have an AOPIrate party, and this would be a perfect gift. Last week she asked me if I could knit a panda for her 'little' when she gets one in January, and I told her I had seen one on your page. Would you be willing to share your pattern? - Wendy

Jude, all your photos are great! I really need to get my pictures together and post them. I think it's Irene who's been bugging me to get some posted. I really love all your projects. I'll have to look at the skull cap pattern. One of my boys would love it. And the Celestial socks are great. They all look great. I love the simplicity of the camera case.
