- I love socks! I usually have about 4 or 5 projects going at once, and one is always socks. I also knit lace (I've been knitting a bedspread for 3 decades now). I hope to finish it by November 2009. I'm working on a mermaid doll, a sleevless top, a baby's sweater, THE bedspread, and of course a pair of socks. When I get bored with one thing, or stuck, I just pick up a different project.

Knitting toys
Is anybody else knitting the mermaid doll by alan dart? The fingers are driving me nuts! I actually managed to cable two fingers, tried to fix it and ended up starting the arm over again. I also gave up on metal needles and switched to plastic. Much easier to control the yarn! I am using wool yarn for the body because it was the only thing I could find in the color needed. Way too slippery for addi turbos!
