My father was born and raised in Finland. He became an American citizen before I was born, but I feel close to his heritage. Unfortunately I've never been to Finland. Would love to go some time.

Please help! Harken back to a post....I'm stuck on the Ssskp? Versus the k4tog.

Here's what I did and tell me if it's right because it seems to look okay so far...I winged it and tried slip, slip, yes, a 3rd slip, knit and passed all my slips over the knit. eh? looks good but don't know if I invented something new or am on the right track. Seems to match my k4tog- sort of?

Oh gosh!

Angel Bear: It's amazing that you can speak any Finnish at all. I know enough about languages in general and Finnish in particular to know that it's a very difficult language. Languages are fun, though, If I had ever had the opportunity to learn, I would have liked to. Happy knitting!

Angel Bear: My MIL came from Karelia, which is now part of Russia. Our DS the elder looks Finnish, but our DS the younger looks German. DH, DS the younger and I all took a joint Lufthansa/Finnair flight from Frankfurt to Helsinki. We were all sitting together and reading. The flight attendant asked DH in Finnish what he wanted, and he answered, "I'm sorry, I don't speak Finnish." She responded in English. Then she asked me in German what I wanted. I speak German, so I could answer. Then she also addressed Peter in German. Fortunately, he also speaks German. DH also had people in stores talk to him in Finnish, but not me. I think Finns have a "look" that you can tell. Interesting. --P

Yes it does. Think my brain is a little fried from all the anesthesia I have had. Just had back surgery besides the carpal tunnel. Appreciate the help.

Thank You for your comment. I think that I-cord ruins the whole bag. I am going to remove the one from my first bag and make a different one. Why spend all that time making a beautiful bag and messing it up with that cheap look.
