About Me:
I'm a wife and mother of two daughters and grandmother to two, a boy and a girl, 6 and almost 3. I'm retired after working for the State of NC for 30 years. I love being retired and love knitting, reading and learning new knitting techniques. My husband retired before me, and is able to do some things he always wanted to, so we're very happy. Our daughters are further away than we'd like (Colorado and Alaska), but they're both satisfied with their lives and their homes, so we'd rather have them satisfied where they are than miserable closeer to home. My sister and I learned to knit from a booklet called "Learn to Knit" when we were in the 3rd and 2nd grades, respectively, but we learned how to cast on, then either garter stitch only or purl stitch only, so we were very limited. I took a class around 20 years ago and haven't stopped since. My favorite project right now is socks, but I just finished a sweater recently, also.

I would love to learn to knit socks but I have never found a pattern that I thought was simple enough to try. I am currently working on a baby blanket for a friend. I am glad to hear from you. If you have a simple sock pattern that you would like to share let me know.

I am from NC, near Charlotte. Glad to find another knitter from NC on here. I am a relatively new knitter, self taught. Maybe we can share some patterns, and or tips.
