About Me:
Knitting has been a part of my life since I was 12. I learned in school by a teacher. I met Meg Swansen last year at a knitting event. I love to sew. I make quilts and leaning how to make clothes. I was raised in the city but love the country. I want to own my own farm someday. When I was a little girl I wanted to be a farmer's wife. I'm happiest when surrounded by yarn, fabric and a sewing machine.

Letting Go and giving back

Posted on August 6, 2013 at 4:18pm 1 Comment

I can't believe it's August!  Here in NYC we are experiencing somthing like Fall wheather. It's been in the mid-80's and at night it goes down to the 60"s!  The Fall is my favorite time of the year. I have been doing alot of de-cluttering. I gave my gently used knitting books to my local library and cleaned and carefully packaged yarn and needles I don't want  to schools and nursing homes.  I hope someone can enjoy them. It feels good to let go things you don't use and make space. I highly…

Colorwork and the farm.

Posted on July 15, 2013 at 4:41pm 2 Comments

After spending some time on my friend's farm in NJ. I was in the a good frame of mind to try colorwork again. The trouble I had before is my stitiches were always too tight and they would pucker.  Because it was quiet most of the day, I fed the chickens and sat under a tree and my mindset was better. I found out that…

Knitting in the Round adventure

Posted on June 13, 2013 at 6:38pm 1 Comment

I was once was a die-hard knitting in pieces knitter. But in the last few months I sat down and learn to knit in the round. I kept watching Meg Swansen's  DVD's and new things came to me. I got copies of, Circular Knitting and Knitting in the old way. Both books are very good at explaning how to's. I remeber asking Kelley for help all the time for knitting in the round. I kept telling her that I could never do it., So I gave up.…

Sad day, lost knitting.

Dear Knitters:

Friday evening I went to the Met Museum for my bi-weekly drawing class. I lost my felted beret that my sister knitted for me. As I went looking for it, I lost my homemade drawstring bag that had my sock knitting! I had finished one sock and the other the cuff was almost done!  I'm so upset. I called the museum to see if anyone turned it in the lost and found but nothing. The pain of losing one's knitting!  I've never done that before.  I will check within the…

I finally got it!

Posted on August 15, 2012 at 10:08pm 0 Comments

I have always wanted to make an EZ pie shawl. My first attempt was awful! Everything got tangled and i kept forgetting to increase. I also couldn't adjust to the lace weight yarn. This is how I solved my problem. I use a smal crochet hook to do Emily's beginning and the transfered the stitches to a small DPN's. I worked a few rounds, then increased, the knit one round and transered the stitches to a larger needles. When it gets too big, i will put them on a circular. I don't know why I…

Sorry, I don't have that book. I suggest you post a blog and see if anyone has it and can help. You have posted blogs before, so it should be easy. Just give it a title like "Help Needed." I'm sure you'll get answers! Good luck!

As to the Hot Water Bottle pattern this is what they said at Lion Brand

This pattern does not have a row guage. Then I asked hey, I want to substitute yarn and then the sent me some dam link that does not work

Hello !

Please see

You will find information there on which Lion Brand yarns are interchangeable, the weight classification of each Lion Brand yarn, as well as helpful tips on how to substitute one yarn for another.

So in the end, what the heck do I do to make this dam cozy with the yarn that I have. GRRR I repeat I am not buying anymore yarn !!! oh and the kit that I want is the Soleado Bag kit.. What do you think about this? Let me know .
