Although I had the yarn sampler before i ordered, i was a bit surprised once i got the yarn, it seemed so much thicker than on the swatches! It feels lovely and has a nice sheen, but i find it heavier than i like for baby and young childrens clothes. I had previously knitted with Sea Island Cotton which is wonderful and thin as lace yarn. Unfortunately it is also $60 for a cone of 1300 yds, and it does NOT take to dying! It only comes in white and natural, not a great choice for little ones. Do you know of anything that is heavier than SICotton but lighter than Shine Sport or Panda Cotton?
After all this can I add you as a "friend"?

Both heel flaps are done and I'm over halfway done with the foot of one. The next pair of socks I knit will be for me (my first pair of hand knit socks). I want to try the Zombie socks once the pattern is released this month. Have you seen it? It's a dropped stitch pattern that some sock knitting competition used. I'm going to use 2 circs. I've been working on varnishing the inside of our little sailboat and I haven't had much time to knit. We want to get it out into the water in two weeks, so that means I have to do most of the prep work.
