My Orca Order Has Arrived:)

When I pulled into my carport yesterday, I was greeted by a wonderful cardboard box with the KnitPicks logo on it! It got here really quickly and I immediately tore it open to admire my new treasures:) I ordered some City Tweed in orca, zephyr tips, a cable, cable needles, and some dpns. I am going to cast on (using the magic loop method) the mittens I blogged about earlier. I also want to thank the knitpicks staff for the awesome products and incredible sevice! Harmonies hit a snag:(

Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone has ever had this happen to them........I was knitting with my GORGEOUS Harmony Size 11 straight needles (the first time I have ever used them) and about a week into knitting....I got a snag on one of the needles near the tip (I think its where the colored woods are layered started to peel away from each other) I raced into action:)! I didnt want to have to reorder....so I decided to sand the spot down with my nail file and cover the snag with clear nail p… Continue

If she only knew!

So I have begun knitting the prayer shawl that I blogged about earlier! The person who will be recieveing the shawl has seen me working on it, but doesnt know it has anything to do with her. I was super sneaky about purchasing the materials with her too.......My husband and I went on vacay over the long weekend with her and her husband (we went to Branson Mo---very cute town) and I told her I was making a big scarf for my grandma and I needed to pick out a pretty lavender yarn and sone nice bead… Continue

We are slightly less than a month apart in age. :)

Labor is hard and very painful, but very worth it. :)

Thanks for the encouragement! I'm pretty sore this morning...can't wait to take more ibuprofen! I dread eating though...I'm already tired of brushing my teeth all the time! :)

When is your birthday? Mine is in June. :)

Hi. :) I'm twenty-six as well. Thanks for your comment!

I haven't tried socks yet, but I understand being ready to move on from scarves! I've just started trying out new patterns on my blankets. :)

Nice to "meet" you. :)

Hi!! I am new to this knitting site as well, however, I am not new to knitting!! I have been knitting for a number of years. There are still many things that I need to learn how to knit. When my kids were little I used to knit all of their sweaters. Now, they are grown and have kids of their own and now there are too many to keep up with. I also knit doggie sweaters too. Our weather gets pretty cold, especially this winter. We have many below zero days and nights. I think that knitting a project that is a little more challenging each time is the only real way to learn to knit new things. Also, I would suggest that you find a nice neighborhood yarn store with people to help with any thing that you need to know. Large stores, like Michaels, do not have the individual care that you or I might need even though they have a great selection of yarn and other items. Smaller yarn stores usually have classes and also walk-in times and it is a great way to meet other knitters. Carole
