I just joined the Mile High Club!!! Well, for knitters. I worked on this new scarf from a new pattern I created while flying to Chicago.

Hello All,
This is the first knit pattern of my own devising, I call it Springtime Scarf... My wife Megan says it looks more like tire tracks. I guess in a way it does. Well, here's the pattern, give it a go and see what you think. Seeing as I'm kind of new at all of this I tried to keep it as simple as possible. I hope you like it.

Row 1: k Repeat to end of row.
Row 2: *(k1, k2tog, k3, yo-k1, k1, yo-k1, k3,…

Hello All,
I'm an active member of Baby Threads of New Hampshire, we knit scarves, hat and mittens for children and people in need. I am trying to create a pattern for mittens but need a little help with finding a chart that shows a range of measurements for hand sizes. I need a chart that can provide average age to size so that I can better work out the instructions. It can be a little hard to knit a pair of mittens for a 5 year old if you don't have idea how long a 5 year old's hand…

I have a secret, I love to shop at thrift stores, it's not just that I'm frugal, (a polite word for cheap), but I love the thrill of the hunt. To that end I have over the past year found miles of yarn. my wife calls me a yarn slut. I had no idea how fast one could accumulate so much yarn, and even though I have done several projects I still lots of yarn to work with.
So if any of you know of any projects that could help me bust this stash please let me know.

I learned a kewl trick to tighten up purls a bit...twist the stitch before purling it...
let me know if that helps...
