Raverly different?

Thank you all for the kind words about Raverly. I went back to the website to see if I could "check my status" and the set up for new accounts was totally different. Now you just give them your e-mail address and they send you a link to create your user name and password. I tried it and guess what...No wait!! I don't know if it was because they already had my information or if they just changed the sign up. For anyone else waiting to get in to Raverly or thinking of signing up now would be a goo… Continue

Stroll. Is it a yarn or a pattern?

I was searching for a new sock pattern when I came across Berroco knits page. They have a sock pattern called "Stroll"! Isn't that a funny coincidence?!!

Hi, this is my first time write; I would like to know if anyone could help me out. I am trying to knit a sweater for a bear with patterning, however, I have 41 sts and I done p1, k1 for six rows. Now, this is where my problem comes in p1,k1 5 (7) pl c4b pl k9 p1 c4b pl (k1, p1) (7) times. I just start knitting 4 months.

Hi - our admin knows about the spammers and is banning them as soon as they appear, but it seems there's always another one to take their place. I'm sorry about that!

I realized after awhile that I wasn't counting my stitches as I was going. I'll count better on my next one. I had found a pattern for a tote in a magazine using granny squares so that is my goal when I get better at it.
You were just being nice when you said my square was cute (smile).

Thank you! I don't know much about felting...yet...but I will have to look into it. I actually ended up finding a pattern that I decided to try, but I'm just now able to get on my computer to update on here! I really appreciate your suggestion.

thanks Sybil--I was thinking about it more last night, and realized the same thing...scary huh? I just made anafghan that was a similar idea..you could just crochet the squares "for fun" so to speak, or make a wholes sampler afghan. A friend gave me a large box of yaarn, and as she had started it, I finished it..loads of fun.....I think I'll do that ! Thanks...

I've been "off my yarn" for a little while. I still have to do the very last thing on my sampler, the Afterthought Pocket... cut into the knit fabric... YIKES! LOL! I've scrapped the idea of making my first sweater for my DG... the author encouraged that I not do that. She said it would really be best if I made my first sweater to fit myself and to look at it as an extension of the Sampler... purely a learning experience. Use cheap yarn that I don't care about and don't worry about the finished product... focus on experiencing the process more than about making it "right." I like that cuz I learned SO much from the Sampler, and I understand her thinking.

I've got some yarn I'd bought to make an afghan and have more than enough to make a sweater, from what the book says. But, I'm starting on a Norberta Dragon for DG first, then the sweater...

Thanks for the hat response... I had come to the conclusion that I must have missed the memo about using a negative ease for them, cuz I swatched, measured, calculated... had my husband check my math :-) ... and it still came out big. I made one for myself [crochet] in an extra chunky yarn from Rowan and it came out great. I made another [knit] for my daughter in a bulky yarn and it came out loose... not too loose to wear, but looser than she'd prefer. So, I still have plenty of the yarn to make another smaller one... I used Magic Loop, so I was gonna lose a repeat on each side, and I think that will be sufficient... I made another, a completely different design for my MIL and it was HUGE! That one will be just a little more complicated to reduce down, because of the pattern I put into it, but, it was so large I have a good idea how to do it and not screw up the pattern...

You see no pictures of my projects, because until about three weeks ago, when I joined the Community, I'd never had any reason to TAKE any! :-) It is on my ToDo list, but I've been working on the Sweater Workshop Sampler and battling migraines, so I haven't gotten to it just yet... soon... keep an eye out. :-)
