I was lucky I have soooo many things I want to make..I knew I'd find something I could make for any homework assignments! When do they post House point standings? at the end of each month? good luck with your completion--you still have 14 days..lol

Potions complete and handed in m'am-Hello Kitty got a new hat & scarf. My bee blanket is almost done, just have to find a piece of matrial for the back to hide the stitching on the bees faces. I love when a project starts out simple and ends up way more than that..sigh.
how are you coming along?

I'm glad they let you back in-I looked for you...did Errol bring your letter? Perhaps that would explain it..
I started my DADA-a bee themed baby blanket-yellow with black/yelow trim (go Hufflepuff). My charms I thought a nice hand towel. I'm thinking Potions was something to keep someone warm? I have a hat/scarf going for that. I had an idea for transfiguration, but it turned out that this month is blocking, so I scratched my origional idea. I had hoped to use the yarn from an argyle sweater that I frogged, and have a Very Warm Haat ready to start using the old yarn..sweater magically turned into hat !!! maybe next month..
good luck!!may the best House win...

howdy..glad camp was fun. I spent a week at the Jersey shore-lovely weather, lots of exercise, and a little knitting. Finished another sheep, as well as a baby blanket. I took a look at the group, but it was too late to get in this term. I may just hang out in the common room and see what's going on for a while..
My DH and I finally made it to the movies..he didn't really care for the latest one, but I thought it was really good. There were too many slow spots for him, and I explained to him that what was happening in this one was necessary to set up the final book..and the end of the HP story. A few house colors bookmarks have made my git making list, and I'm planning on a house sweater for myself. I believe I'm a Hufflepuff..not brave enough to be a Gryffindor..lol

I liked your name-which house are you in? My son is now 17, but he was a huge Potter fan when the first book came out..when each of the last 2 books came out, I (of course)bought them. When he asked me why, I said that I wanted to read them..he said..ohhh..I asked him if he wanted to read when I was done, and he was torn between--they're just kids books, an dang I really liked them..lol. He read them of course, but not when I was looking.

Your Potter group sounds like fun--I'll have to check it out! I have the Charmed Knits book, but haven't made anything yet. Hey a house sweater could be a good use for KP's new tweed! wicked!!!

Your Harry Potter socks are wonderful! Thank you for the photo. I'm glad my blog post was helpful. I probably need to update it now that we have so many new colors!!!!

About Me:
Financial professional, mom to two teenage boys. So busy between work, scouts, sports, etc. hard to find time to knit. I've been knitting (as an adult) for five or six years. Currently half-way through the Knit One Below Baby Block blanket in Shine Worsted (yummy bright shades for a boy: Crocus, Bachelor Button, Reef, Green Apple, Creme Brulee). Got sidetracked on socks due to travel schedule and now tempted by the KAL Cardigan.

My Essential Kettle destined for Fibonacci Socks

Is anyone else participating in the Ravelry Harry Potter Knit and Crochet House Cup Spring term? I signed up and got sorted into Gryffindor (chanting Go, Go, Gryffindor in the background).

I'd love to stuff my schedule full of every class (very Hermione-ish), but I know my limits. So I'm taking Defense Against the Dark Arts (DADA), when I'm making some Hogwarts Coasters, and Arithmancy, where my project is sock made in Fibonacci sequence using the wine and gold Essential Kettle Dyed that I stas… Continue

Middle Aged Woman Has Weird Love Affair with Ball Winder

Okay, call the National Enquirer if you want. But I am in love with my new $19.99 KP Ball Winder. I clamped it onto the arm of my big rocker, and I was off and winding. I've been rewinding every skein in my stash, it is just too much fun. I even wound some fairly wide ribbon yarn as well as some cotton that is more like heavy thread. My 14 y.o. son saw me and insisted on trying it out. I let him at it with some acrylic worsted, but after one ball (with quite a few backup rewinds when he wasn't w… Continue
