If you really want to learn to knit there is a lot of sites on the internet to help. Also on you tube they have videos you can watch and work along with. It really is worth the efford when you see the pretty finished objects.

I have knitted for over 50 years! I have been trying to expand my knowledge since I have two small grandchildren that I am sure would wear "Grandma's Sweaters". My major projects are afghans and so many patterns for them that I could never knit them all! I especially love to work with cables.
I am a Language Arts teacher at an alterntative high school. Need less to say, the days are often quite stressful and knitting is a great evening relaxer. We live on a livestock and grain farm. Livestock includes registered Belted Galloways (Yes, they are what many people call: Cookie Cows or Oreo Cows), a few Simmental cows, and many corn fed hostein steers for beef. The summer finds me walking calves for show, working in my garden and flower beds. In the house besides knitting I love to bake yeast breads and am known in the neighborhood for my cookies.
