with a little help from my friends.....

I think we would all agree that knitters, on the whole, are totally awesome peeps - no arguement there, Right? Right! Well I'd like to confirm just how super dooper cool the knitting community is.

In my current endevor to reduce my stash I cast on for Ulmus. Wonderful pattern, well written, gorgeous design AN… Continue

Meet Ollie

Ollie is the second monster to invade my home and rid my stash of 2 1/2 skeins of yarn! The more creatures I make, the more yarn they gobble up. It's a win - win situation.

The pattern is from DangerCrafts on Etsy and I used Knit Picks Crayon doubled in Beach Glass, Light Blue & Kingfis… Continue

Scary scrap stash ----- Be gone!

Confession..... along with an embarrassing amount of sock yarn I've also acquired a scrap stash of equal, okay, maybe greater proportion.
Finding it impossible to throw anything fiber related out, I had to find a solution to my (ever growing) problem. Now imagine my excitement whe… Continue

Badges????? We don-need no steeking badges!

okay, maybe I would like a steeking badge - I mean if there were such a thing. ;) I'm happy to report that I am so over my fear of steeking. It really was so much worse in my head! The crochet steek & I are BFF's! Easy, quick & clean - that's the steek for me. I'm completely confident in my steeking skills and will cut knitted fabric at the drop of hat. The scissors have been flying… Continue

I need help! I'm having troubles with the Carmen Bananas Sock Monkey pattern. I bought it, had a question on it, called customer service, they told me that there was a mistake in the pattern but would not tell me what the mistake was or how to fix it. I would really like to make this monkey (actually...my granddaughter would REALLY like me to make this monkey). I've spoken with Cheryl B. Waters and she's also trying to help me but she gave the impression that you might have some answers. She said that you had posted some erratas on the erratas pages and that those were incorporated into the Carmen pattern and that she was going to attach her full notes. (quick question...the erratas are in blue. Those are the mistakes that need to be changed, correct? Or do we follow those instructions?) Can you help me? My e-mail is nalameow@iowatelecom.com. I'd really appreciate any advice you could give.

Susan, you have inspired me once again...I will begin to take pics of all my FOs and post them. I have given sooooo many away without pics and it would be nice to have a reminder log to see what I have done.
Also, very nice work, I love the baby sweaters and matching hat.
Steeking "eke", I have never done this and as I said on "hooville" just saying the word is scary to me!!!! PeggyPoo offered some advice and to help me through when the time comes, but I am very interested in you "crochet" method. I will take any advice or links to tutorials you are aware of. Thanks. I love this Knitting community, I agree it is so helpful and FUN!

your projects are wonderfull. Especially love the mittens, I live in southern california and have been trying to convince myself that I really don't need mittens, since I don't even own a coat.

How did you learn to do the steeking. I was going to order a vest pattern but when I found out you had to do the steeking I changed my mind!!!! Liz

You thought I was so funny on the KAL. I wasn't trying to be,
I just tell it like it is. You make me laugh a lot too. I think we're
both twisted in the same direction. You have brightened my
life considerably. --J xxx

Hey, Sherlock,
Where in the world is the pattern for the Colorwork Kal? I'm
going nuts(er) trying to find it and getting grumpy in the process.
Not that I have my yarn yet. ---Judith
