Some more books..

Got The Natural Knitter by Barbara Albright from the library, along with Twelve Months of Knitting by Joann Yordanout.

The Natural Knitter is a lovely book. Beautiful photographs, nice designs. I may buy this one. The designs and very classic, but with a stylish edge to them. Really nice.

Twelve Months of Knitting is OK. Some of the cloths are for babies, which I have absolutely no need for. But that wouldn't deter me if I really adored some of… Continue

2 Other Books

More books from the library. Anticraft Knitting Beading and Stitching For the Slightly Sinister by Renee Rigdon and Zabet Stewart, and New Ideas for Today's Knitting by Jean Leinhauser and Rita Weiss.

Firstly, I have crossed off the Anticraft book. After a quick scan, I found only a few knitting projects, those of which I would *never* in a *million* years even *think* about making. Don't waste your time on this book. There is not enough usable content for… Continue

Another book

Well, I got another book from the library to look over. It's called Ethnic Knitting Discovery The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and The Andes by Donna Druchanas. Quite the long name, for such a slim book.

Anyway, it seems to be a very basic instructional book on how to knit sweaters in the styles of the countries listed. I like the styles of the sweaters, but they are way too boxy (no shaping) for my tastes. I suppose I could incorporate the design techniques into a shaped… Continue

Great book I got from Library

I just got this great book from the Library. Its The Knitter's Book of Yarn by Clara Parkes. I think I'm going to actually have to buy this book. I know Knitpicks has it in softcover. I don't know if I'd actually prefer the hardcover version, which is the one I got from the library.

Anyway, the projects in it (and there are 40 of them) are so lovely and diverse. The designers are actually people I've heard of, instead of all by the same designer, or by a bunch of people… Continue

I got my Amazon order the Box of Socks, by Charlene Schurch, and Gwen. . . um can't remember the last name. Some great looking socks in there!

You're right, Mr. Darcy IS great. And guess what? I homeschool too. My kids are 10, 7, and 4, and we've homeschooled for five years. Hope to see you around. By the way, your library sounds like it has a lot more knitting books than mine. I'm jealous!
