Yarn Feedback

I like to wear my socks short so I've never knit anything that even went half way up my calf. A friend of mine asked if I could knit her a pair of knee high socks and I'm wondering if there is enou...

Yarn Feedback

I have a pattern for Felted Slipper Socks from KnitPicks--I'm pretty sure it was a free download. At the time the suggested yarn was doublestranded Palette on size 9 needles. I've only felted one t...

Yarn Feedback

I knit some socks out of Palette yarn so I could felt them. I never felted before and I don't have a top loader washing machine. I did find an article about felting on a stove top so I tried that. ...

Hello. I love socks too-I used to take the trolley and could finish a pait a week just during my commutes. Too cool-such a portable item. I too sit and knit while visiting my mom-she goes in about every 4 months to have stints placed in her heart.

Hi MostlySox, where have you been. I'm crazy about socks and you always had great ideas. Am I just missing your posts on the Sock KAL?

I agree. Once I mastered turning a heel and the Kichner (is that spelled right?) stitch, I just love knitting socks. They're so portable and pattern choices are endless. But alas, I'm afraid I'm going to have to wait on ordering my sock blanks too ):
Summer Classes just started and buying those text books is a killer. Talk about starving student.

Hiya, I too loooooove to knit socks. They're like little treasures to me....the possible patern combinations are endless. That's why I'm so excited about this sock blank knit/dye along.

the 2-at-a-time-socks book is wonderful. The patterns are easy to read and adjust to your needs. I also find the cast on easier than some magic loop instructions. There are also patterns for several weight yarns and different size needles, which I really liked. I definately reccomend that book. Let me know if you give it a try. I would love to see how you like it.

Yes, thanks for writing. I did get my new #1/43". The needle part is longer than the nickle plated ones, and so far I think I like that better. I knit faster with the nickle plated tho. I would buy another size if the occasion arose.

I also bought the book "Twisted Sisters". Have you heard of it? It's all about sweaters, simple patterns.

I love the 2 at once on 1 circ. Instant gratification! You have a finished pair when you are done. No second sock syndrome! Just be brave and try in! Never be afraid to try new stuff with knitting, if you mess up you get to reknit it! And we love to knit or we wouldn't be talking about it!

About Me:
I live in New Jersey with my hubby of 18 years. No kids but a couple of 4 legged critters running around the house -- 2 cats, a retired Seeing Eye breeder (he's a lab) and a pup (also a lab) we are raising for the Seeing Eye.

I learned to knit in college -- 20 years ago!!! ACK! I took a summer job working in a needlework store that sold lots of yarn and by the time I was done with college, I had enough yarn to knit 30 sweaters. After a few years and lots of sweaters that seemed to fit almost everybody else but me, I decided to put knitting aside and I gave all my yarn and patterns away except for baby yarn for gift baby booties.

My hiatus from knitting lifted October 2007 when I started to spend a lot of time in hospitals caring for my mom. I decided to try sock knitting -- it was a nice small portable project with almost instant gratification. Now I am hooked but this time on socks...mostly.

I've done some scarves, felted a pair of slippers and played with the moebius thing via a Cat Bordhi book. But mostly I knit socks. And I love it!

My other passion is scrapbooking and I even have a scrapbook I'm working on of favorite knit patterns :-)
