Thank you so much! Mama Nova Dolls is okay :) I don't know how I do it either! I get up at 4:15am to baby sit my friends kids, I'm done by 8:30am, go home, work on school stuff (only because my own won't go back to sleep) and then work on some crafting. I go to the campus twice a week for class and then I come come to do more school work and crafting. I'm exhausted but I make it through each day in tact :)

Speaking of which, I'm going to try to get the little one to lay down while I try to nap before school :) Have a great day!

That video was actually really helpful! Thanks for leading me there :) My current project has photos up on my profile now. Between algebra, essays and reading, I'm stealing time to make a few rounds. Often times falling asleep while knitting. LOL.

This is the only thing I have listed right now

Due to my baby sitting between 4am and 8:30am, full time school and being a single mama, I'm not able to make dolls exclusively (nor knit). Therefore, it's taking forever to get more up there. But I'm working on it!

Thank you! I kind of laughed when you said I'm more advanced. I've only been actively knitting for about a month. Maybe it's a tension thing? I tried a pattern on Ravelry called the Rocka Beanie. All along the join there was extra yarn and it was wide open! I tried to tension it more but it broke the yarn and still left the opening. Maybe it was that pattern...Maybe it was knitter error. I learned how to do all of it from KP tutorials and KNITFreedom.

Thank you! My daughter is my life saver. She's taught me more about life in the 3 years she's been alive than anyone, or anything else, has in my 27 years of life.

Maybe we can do a hat together here! Just a simple K1P1 rib with a ss. We can take pictures of things that aren't going right and try to help each other learn :) I'm just starting one today with a K3P3 rib and I'll do 2 colors. Keep working on it, it's the only way to learn and improve :D

I'm so sorry this took so long! I'm a full time single mom, college student and I just launched an Etsy shop. Whew!

Okay, so the extra yarn between the stitches: It seems that when you are going from knit to purl, the extra yarn exists because one of the stitches, I forget which one, uses less yarn than the other. I go in through the back of the KNIT stitch. That seems to help a little compared to the front of a knit stitch. The back twists the stitch taking more yarn to make it.

As I get into the 3rd and 4th row, things seem to take care of itself. I noticed the further I went, the more tidy it looked. From what I hear, the first 3-5 rounds/rows are the challenge to get through for beginners. It's definitely my experience! I can't count the amount of times the first 3 rows didn't look right and I frogged it. But then I decided to just keep going and it turned out all pretty :) I posted a new picture of my hat I made. Let me know what you think!

Whenever you are ready, one of us should be around.

Mary, somehow I missed seeing your comments. I don't know why but I did.

Which hat brim are you talking about? Most of what I have posted are just a rolled brim like the one your wearing in your avatar. Then I think I have one in a 2 x 2 ribbing.

On the time thing for your comments. I think, but cannot swear, that the time is based on Pacific time since KP headquarters are in Vancouver, WA.

Mary: Welcome to the Ask the Fairy Godknitters group! Let us know what questions you have. Happy knitting!

Hey, Mary, Susan mentioned you were looking for help tonight. Most people don't use the chat room. It goes too fast and too many questions need to be researched. So the best place to ask questions is in the knit along groups. Susan's suggest of Ask the Fairy Godknitters is probably the best place to post general questions. There are a few of us who monitor most of the knit alongs. So someone should see your questions. Welcome to the group!
