Hi Margaret! If you'd like a larger neckline for your CLC, all you have to do is start your short row shaping a little earlier and work additional rows. This will bring up the back of the neck higher than the front and give you more of a "scoop."
If you're only at the armholes right now, you can keep knitting for several more inches before you need to worry about the neck. And once you're there, it may help to add a lifeline to you work before you start your neck shaping so that you can easily experiment with the depth of the neck opening by knitting a bit, then frogging it out if you don't like the look of it.
