I'm a new knitter since November of 2007 but have crocheted for 30+ years. I have lots of time to knit since I suffer from chronic back pain and most of the time it is the only thing that I can do. I have spent the past year knitting socks and several other small, quick items. My next goals are to make a sweater and something in lace. I find it easier to work with smaller needles. Even when I was crocheting, I enjoyed working with the finer threads and needles.
I live near Lake Erie, 25 miles west of Cleveland, Ohio and spend most of my time at home. The only people that I know locally who knit are relative strangers at the LYS and so I pretty much knit alone unless I'm taking a class, which I rarely do. That's just my personality, though. I've always been a loner.
I don't spend very much time at the computer because it is too painful to sit at the computer for long. I'm thinking about getting a laptop, but I'm afraid that if I do, I won't have any reason to move my behind from my recliner. *LOL*
